UEFA Champions League/Europa League 12/13/14/15 March *** Spoilers ***

LOL Spurs go through luckily for the away goal.

Shame Inter didnt turn up in the first leg...had they done then maybe they would be going through.

But no big deal, as an Arsenal fan, the longer Spurs stay in Europa league the better for us as fixtures are gonna start piling up now for them:p and they could drop points;)

It's not really double goals - if you score 2 in extra time the opposition only needs 3.

It is one reason why I've always said playing the 2nd leg at home isn't such an advantage as the media make out, for example I remember Wigan being Arsenal in the league cup on an extra time away goal.

Personally I'm not even sure I like away goals full stop, the idea is to encourage the away team to come out more rather than parking the bus, but conversely one could argue that it encourages the home team to be more cautious. It also greatly reduces the likelihood of extra time being played (since that can only happen if the scores are identical in both games) which is maybe a good thing for those poor overworked footballers.

One change I would like to see perhaps would be to change it so away goals scored only count after extra time. So basically after 90mins if the aggregate scores are tied then you ALWAYS play extra time. After 120mins you then apply the away goals that were scored in normal time and if that doesn't seperate the teams then you count any away goals in extra time.

I don't really see a problem with it; your advantage of playing in front of your home fans is counteracted by the other team's advantage that their goals are marginally worth more.

aww look, it's little Tom84. can you do more of this? it seems to work.

You've only got yourself to blame for me routing against Spurs cm, if you weren't such a let's not I'd be fully behind Tottenham. What can I say you make me hate your club ;)
