UEFA Champions League/Europa League 14/15/16 February *** Spoilers ***

Expected us to get destroyed and saw that we did get absolutely destroyed.

So no surprise to me.

Meh I see Sanchez leaving and possibly Ozil leaving very soon.

We are a complete shower of **** tbf.

That was embarrassing for arsenal. Could have lost by more, could have easily had 2 penalties against them and a man sent off. Got away lightly with 5-1

I could not care less if Ozil Leaves.

And when you see Gibbs getting the captains armband you know this team is in serious trouble.

The Ozil thing bugs me, first year with us he disappeared in all the big games, people had a pop at him for it. Media twisted this into a thing where there were articles with every sports section and website about how this stat or some game proves he's not lazy like everyone thinks. He ran X amount in that game thus isn't this lazy guy you described. His PR, or Arsenal's, someone was on point, they reframed the criticism away from big game flop to being lethargic and not looking like he was trying then showing stats that he ran a lot to show it's not true.

That was never the problem, you can run as much as you want, if you bottle every challenge when you get there, you may as well not have run at all, but most importantly it's the big games where he disappears.

I want him to get an offer for LOWER wages and for him to become part of the squad, help us out with rotation and be used a fair amount, but absolutely NOT start games like these. You pay 250k for a guy who shows up for the biggest games, not to the guy who absolutely doesn't.

Sanchez I want to keep but fear we won't. With Ozil gone, with Wenger gone, with Monreal, Gibbs, Walcott, Ox, Gabriel, Welbeck, Coquelin, Ramsey gone and a better manager bringing in replacements with the right attitude, Sanchez can be the difference(on the wing) between winning a title and not.

I think he's becoming frustrated with most of those players mentioned, I think he won't stay if this same level of performance and failure against the big teams continue and I won't begrudge him that for a minute. He can go to Juve, maybe Bayern, Atletico, etc, win stuff, challenge most years and actually find players with the same mentality.

I didn't mind Henry, RVP, Fabregas, Nasri or pretty much anyone else leaving after giving their all for anything from a couple years to almost a decade and seeing the team achieve nothing. The one that always sticks out and really highlights how ridiculous it's become, the one people forget, Denilson was first team, Wenger loved the guy, he ASKED to leave because he was fed up of not being able to win things. He was abysmal for us in all but like one season, truly terrible and even he was frustrated and wanted out.

Bayern have been a little average so far this season, Carlo has made a lot of changes, tried forcing his 4-3-3 for much of it without the players (even cracked out the old christmas tree formation last game) but even with the ref against them and a few key injuries the big difference is the mentality. Arsenal have a strong team, play good football for the most part, but they don't ever seem to want to fight for each other, haven't for years.

Wenger literally has no plan B, C or D. He doesn't change how his team plays from one opposition to the next, its ridiculous really. The amount of Bundes teams that have gone to Bayern this season and frustrated the hell out of them because they can't match the quality, Arsenal should have gone with this tactic. Wenger sets out a team to try and win which they will never do away from home.

So many players never turn up for Arsenal, it's not just Ozil. Time for a change in manager and trim a few from the squad. Wouldn't be surprised if the board get a yes man in the managers seat though.

Gary Neville summed Arsenal up well when they lost to Chelsea, they just let the opposition play rather than getting stuck in and trying to disrupt them. I expect Wenger won't mind as long as they finish top four again.

So do you think Wenger will go in the summer? Presumably Simeone would be Arsenal fans preferred choice as new manager? He'd certainly give you a fighting spirit and aggression that you clearly lack under Wenger. If I was an Arsenal fan my concern would be the overhaul that needs to happen in the squad, as well as trying to keep Sanchez. Personally I don't think Arsenal should offer Ozil a big contract, he's too lazy and disinterested in the big games, but you absolutely need to keep hold of Sanchez.

Well that was truly pathetic but the worst thing is that I wasn't even angry watching it, just resigned and not surprised in the least. Yet again Wenger sends a team out with completely the wrong mentality in a big game. 10 minutes of the game we played well, just after the penalty, with everyone closing down rather than just Sanchez so why stop doing it? What makes the whole team sit so deep and just let teams play into our 18 yard box. Whose plan is that? If it's not the plan why are we doing it and why don't we stop doing it. When we do eventually get the ball we're so deep there is no way out, not aided by the fact half our midfielders cannot pass a bloody football consistently.

Bayern must have rubbed their hands together seeing Iwobi, The Ox and Coquelin in midfield. Iwobi has been awful apart from a 3 game spell earlier in the season yet still gets so much game time. The Ox, for every good thing he does he does at least 10 bad. To be fair to Coquelin we don't have anyone else better than him there but that's Wengers fault. Although Gabriel wasn't directly at fault for the goals i'm pretty sure we wouldn't have conceded 4 more with Kos on the pitch. Not good enough players yet again. Ozil again anonymous, i'm trying to think of a game this season where he's stood out and failing. He was really good in patches last season but I've not seen anything like that Ozil this season.

The when we need goals, trademark Wenger chuck on as many attacking players as possible game plan was in force again even though it's never worked. The whole shape and system goes out the window and achieves nothing. Same as against Watford, pull a goal back, look better, throw on more attackers and become disjointed.

Wenger should be embarrassed to his core after last night. The whole club has stagnated over the last 10 years and no matter who he signs we will always repeat these sort of performances. No backbone, no game plan, no shame. To think he had the temerity to suggest we be more like Spurs fans when served up with this drivel!

He'll still walk into a contract he has written at the end of the year.

How Wenger can say that arsenal defended at all is quite amazing.

Almost all of Bayerns goals were super soft. Arsenal players just stood off the opposition for pretty much all of them. The Thiago goal from the Lewandowski backheel was laughably bad. Unless Wenger goes in the summer I can see Sanchez leaving. Don't know about anyone else as they are probably all perfectly happy to be in a comfortable middle of the road squad where there is no pressure to perform.

I said last year after Iwobi was thrown in due to injuries, he looked great, but after so many games in a row I feared that Wenger would burn him out like he does. He's forced to play him(rather than choosing to because he deserves a shot), realises he's good then decides he's his new favourite.

When you get a younger player they don't have the same conditioning, that comes over time. Wenger doesn't care about things like that, he doesn't bring someone into the team sensibly. You have the Iwobi situation which is a young player who needs rest and needs to learn over time how to find consistency and gain that conditioning to play a full season over the space of at least 2-3 seasons in which Wenger just burns them out, usually until a major injury. The other situation being the likes of Vela, he had like 3-4 appearances in the league total, he was more promising than Iwobi and showed more when he played but didn't get anywhere near enough games to improve and build that conditioning.

Wenger is one of the other, favourites who always get played or those he has no patience for(often with no real reason) who he refuses to give the game time for them to build up to be top players. Iwobi to me looks badly burned out, lacking that extra bit of energy which is one of the things that made him so effective coming in later in the season last year.

Refusing to play sanchez in his actual best position of wide left, in favour of a burned out Iwobi and ignoring Giroud who was the kind of player we needed upfront to build attacks from.

This is why I've been 'meh' about Arsenal since, 2008-2009, same team, same problems, same failures, same mentality issues, same mismanagement of players, same losses, same excuses, same blindness from Wenger as to the real problems.

I gave him plenty of time after his complete u-turn in style and mentality, which happened in 2005. You have 2 bad years after what he achieved, fine, but you need after a short bad spell(comparatively) a sign that things will change for the better, a sign that he's noticed the problem and is working to fix it. But with Wenger, a bad 2006-7 turned into the new normal. He was happy with how things were going, he was still losing the right types of players and giving massive game time to those with the wrong attitude. By 08/09 maybe I was convinced he wouldn't change and 3 seasons with the failing attitude was more than enough of a grace period to give Wenger considering his past success, everything since then is just frustration. I can barely enjoy Arsenal winning because I know it just means another overall season with the same problems.
