You end up where you end up owing to how you perform over the whole season - every team goes through good/bad spells, regardless of what kind of position they 'should' be ending up at on paper due to the 'quality' of their team. Some manage to still keep winning whilst playing badly which makes them a better team than one that plays badly and doesn't win.

If we get 2nd (somewhat possible), it'll be because over the 38 games we were better than them this year.
 
The way city have lined up, they are playing 424 against Barca. Silva and Nasri offer nothing defensively.

I haven't suggested otherwise. All I have said is that just because you get 2nd placed doesn't mean you are improving over past seasons even if that is a better position than you have achieved in recent years.
 
City in general look pretty poor and like they can't give a single ****. Aguero and Silva are the only real exceptions but they have played right into Barcas hands with their tactics. Barca could be 4-5 goals up here with some better finishing.
