Another tactically naive performance away from home in Europe.

Fullbacks exposed over and over again and a midfield without a single ounce of creativity when our attackers have been facing a brick wall all night.
 
Hope we never get drawn with Napoli again, horrible club, horrible fans and horrible players. As for the match, far from a great performance from us but we created enough to have scored a goal or two on the break but we were really sloppy with our final pass or shot tonight. The less said about VAR the better - that's the 2nd dive that's ended up as a penalty against us this season and then you get incidents like Matip getting put in a headlock at the weekend not given. There's literally no point in having it if we're going to keep getting terrible decisions.
 
Someone explain to me why Barkley took the pen when Abraham and Jorginho (who is the main pen taker I thought?) was on the field?
 
One Liverpool supporter in hospital over in Naples. Sounds like he was attacked pre-game but made it to the match before collapsing at HT due to significant blood loss. Just like Roma, Napoli should have been kicked out of Europe years ago.

Spot on, I really don't like Napoli or Italian football in general. It's riddled with cheating and racism and is dull as dishwater.

Really not sure what the point of VAR is if it's not for stopping penalty decisions like last night though? Absolutely criminal.
 
Seen the penalty again this morning...just lol. They really need to make it clear why these decisions are given because that last night was baffling. If he hurdles Robertson and doesn't get to the ball after then fair enough, give a pen. To dive before any contact is made is just cheating...to then review it and let the decision stand is mind boggling. Why aren't they asking the ref to review it like they have done previously?
