UEFA Champions League/Europa League 18/19/20 September *** Spoilers ***

Madrid should have been out of sight come the second half so City had better hope they up their game massively for the return fixture.

City will return the favour at home. I didn't think that was a bad result away from home against the finalists.

I do love Jose though, the sooner he's back at Chelsea the better.

Diaby was playing with fire tonight, tried to dribble out of his own box and then slipped having doubled back towards his own goal. Really don't understand that from a risk:reward perspective; even if everything goes perfectly, and he beats 3 men, what has he achieved other than perhaps a short-lived cheer from the visiting fans? He's still 80 yards from goal and can't hurt anyone from there. I can kinda get these tricks and dribbles on the halfway line, if it pays off then maybe there will be an opening, but not in your own box.

He's completely crap, thats all. People really need to realise the worst players IN THE WORLD, could have a good day in the prem league or Europe, thats how football goes. Diaby was shocking today, a yellow card within 20 seconds, giving the ball away constantly, absolutely suicidal play in our own box and in our defensive third repeatedly.

It's as simple as this, today Arsenal were rubbish for 70 or so minutes of the game, the entire second half and if they could finish at all, they'd have thrashed us. Defensively we were no where, not helped by Diaby in the least, Mertesacker tried a what would have been red carded ridiculous lunge in the box, completely missed the player, the ball and but for the player choosing to smash it right at Mannone when basically anything but the middle third of the goal would have been a goal, would have cost us dearly.

What was troubling was how ineffectively we kept the ball and got it up the field for huge portions of that game. Arteta did a few slightly dodgy tackles, an elbow right infront of the ref which went uncarded. Jenks made one really awful and could have been costly pass but went and won it back. Podolski's movement and finishing is great but that is about the only good thing from the game.

Shocking performance from us tonight, we can't even say that we ground the result out because Montpellier should have scored 3 or 4 at least, they were simply terrible in front of goal, and unlucky with some of their penalty shouts being turned down wrongly. The Diaby foul in the box near the end was absolutely stone wall, he put his wrong foot in, he had his arms all over the Montpellier player and how the linesman didn't tell the ref it was a penalty I'll never know. They had quite a few breakaways into our box only to totally mess it up as well, Mounier missed a sitter and the chap on the right wing with the tricks fluffed at least two chances.

The only positive we can take from that is that we're coming away with 3 points, the performance was dire.
