***UEFA Champions League/Europa League 2010/11 Matchday 2***

For the love of god Roy change your tactics, they're clearly not working! Benitez was criticised for changing constantly, whereas now its the opposite. When they switched to 442 against Sunderland you could see how much the team improved. Just change it if it is'nt working!

Guess I'll just have to make do with Fifa11 :p

Just before the board for added time got put up, Roy shouted to the players
"Only two mins to go! Hold on now for the point"

....

Again.
We. Are. Not. Fulham

He has to go :(

To quote Family Guy:
"Nothing's happening...nothing's happening...something about a map. Nothing's happening...it's over. A lot of people in the audience look ****ed."

Edit!
Roy: More then happy with a point.

Am I the only one who didn't think City would do well today? I saw odds of 6.x on betfair for a Juventus win and was tempted to put a good few quid on them.

"It was a good point. We knew it was going to be a tough game. The occasions when they created some chances were largely of our own making. They were the result of unfortunate individual errors. I thought the shape of the team and the way we approached the game - I can have nothing but praise for my team.

"We created some good chances ourselves also. It wasn't a dull 0-0, there was activity at both ends of the field.

"Utrecht did well. They were as determined and committed as we expected them to be, so we had to be at our best defensively and we were.

"We saw some very determined chasing down from the Dutch forwards, their crossing and attacking the ball from crossing was good and it was easy to see why Utrecht have got a very good home record.

"So it's a good point to take us back to Liverpool. Four points out of two games. It's the first time we haven't won one of these games but to be honest it would have been unfortunate for them if we'd won the game tonight. They would have felt hard done by. For me, a draw was a more than satisfactory result.

"I think the group is going to be very tight. The other game finished in a draw. We're top with four, then Utrecht and Napoli with two points and Steaua Bucharest with one point. It's already quite close and I think it will be close right until the end with the way this group is panning out."

Asked about the performance of Fernando Torres, who had a great second-half chance saved, Hodgson said: "There was some good combinations between him and the wide players and Dirk Kuyt. He worked very hard but he's still missing that elusive goal.

"There were a couple of quite good occasions for him to score but I think he'll feel it was a good 90-minute workout for him and another step in the right direction."

Hodgson was also quizzed on Meireles playing on the right.

He said: "We don't play with wingers. The way he plays and the way Joe Cole plays, we think (playing wide midfield) is more than suited to their qualities.

"We saw evidence of that in the game because they often got into situations where they received and turned with the ball - especially in the first half. I think we can get some use from Raul Meireles there with his passing ability."

Shocking.

Oh my. It's the Europa League! You're top by two points already, and it's more or less just a bit more time for the team to get used to things for the Premiership (albeit taking it's time to get the team settled).

Results will start coming, this is how we started near enough - bad results and idiots saying 'he has to go', 'sack him' at Fulham.

The more I see of that Adam Johnson, the more impressive he is - definitely a long term England star.

We're not Fulham though and we didn't finish in the bottom half last season. He's inherited a team that were abysmal last season yet still finished 7th without Gerrard and Torres for large parts of it.

Hodgson just needed to come in and give the players some faith and build their confidence back up but the reverse seems to be happening and our football has sunk to new depths.

I think most Liverpool fans want to give him their full support, despite thinking he's way out of his league, but until he gives us a result and/or performance that gives us some hope he'll never get it.

Yes, Fulham finished in the bottom half, due to literally exceeding out squad limitations with Europa League.

I understand fans are on his back due to the results, but OK fair enough a couple of not so great draws in Brum/Sunderland, but he hasn't had the easiest start to his career at Liverpool, with Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal already played, other than that and maybe Spurs - he should be able to pick up a few results, and the team gain some confidence and momentum.

It's not just the results or even performances that are causing much of the concern, it's the entire mentality of Hodgson and the way he's setting the team up.

I can understand that away to Utd we might play with 2 banks of 4 and try and be organised and difficult to break down but not at home to WBA, Northampton and Sunderland. Not once this season has there been any intent from our midfield to take command of the game and take the game to the opppo.

Danny Murphy was asked today about how Hodgson would want Liverpool to play (in general) and he all but said to play for 1-0's; he said that he would want to keep things tight at the back and rely on 1 or 2 players in attack to pinch a goal.

I can understand why Hodgson may want to play down expectations but he's starting to take the ****. It wasn't a good point today nor was it a good performance like he said and it was the same at the weekend and all season.

edit: and on top of all that, he hasn't done himself any favours with the way he's spoke about the fans protesting against the owners.

Everything that Baz said tbh.
Dont rate him, his tactics and the only thing more annoying then the media's mass un-justified hatred of Rafa is their mass-love-in for Roy.

A 0-0 draw away from home in europe is a good result, but not when that team is Utrech currently 12th in a poor dutch league, and Spurs put 4 past the dutch champions last night. Plus it was yet again a boring uninspiring, pathetic, useless display yet again and Roy thinks we played great.
This from another forum sums my feelings up too! :(
