UEFA Champions League/Europa League 22/23/24 Feb *** Spoilers ***

Not sure where you're getting that number from? Spurs made a pre-tax loss of £6.5 million.

He may have been talking about a negative ~£40m swing in your profits before and after Redknapp. IIRC, you made a ~£40m profit before Redknapp arrived.

screw it. we're still 4th, still in the driving seat for cl quarter finals. i'd have been happy with that if it was offered at the start of the season. COYS.

That was nothing to do with selling a lazy Bulgarian for £30m...

Wasn't all of the Keane/Berbatov money reinvested in the summer on the likes of Bently, Modric and Pavlathingamjig anyway?

It wasn't as if you made that £40m profit simply because you made a £40m profit in the transfer market.

All 3 of those would have been paid for with the transfer budget.

I just find it boring when people keep slating Harry for his supposed financial ineptitude, do they really think a chairman with a 1st in Economics from Cambridge would let him overspend? Spurs are one of the best run clubs, which allows them to punch above their weight (apart from visits to Blackpool :p).

You had a £45m+ transfer budget? Spurs have always spent fairly big but I can't remember you ever spending anything close to that before.

Whether you're spending beyond your means or not, only time will tell but with Redknapp's history, it's hardly a surprise that when start losing money people start putting 2 and 2 together. A lot of it is tongue in cheek anyway.

Spurs you absolute tools!!!

3rd and 4th are gonna be real scraps

(Well done to Blackpool, but was really hoping Spurs would budge City and Chelsea further down /away from 3rd/4th with a win)

I'm taking bets tonight on a) who Tony Pulis will brawl with, schlong out b) how many players will get stretchered off tonight

I notice van Persie is out of the game. I bet even thinking about the tackles he'd receive against Stoke is enough to make his hamstring twitch like Michael J Fox.

I reckon we'll put Ramsey on the bench so that he can run up to Pulis during the game and pound his face in with his old crutch. Then Wenger will be shocked at how Ramsey "just isn't that kind of guy". It'll be beautiful.

EDIT: Also, am I right in thinking that the Arsenal game isn't actually on UK TV?

Fairly sure it's not on tv. Also pretty sure that RvP isn't injured at all and Wenger just knows which games that he should never play in, but doesn't want the fans to know he's just resting him (in case points are dropped). I'd personally rest Cesc too, not like they're needed

Aye, I said that to my mate this morning. I expect it's not a real injury either, and he's being rested for the CC final.

I'm torn between wanting to protect Cesc/Nasri, and wanting to utterly thrash the thugs tonight. I could see us quite easily taking this too slowly and dropping points.

Yeah I wondered if it was on TV or not, had a look on the Sky planner earlier and couldn't see anything. Maybe Radio 5. :)

I don't mind that van Persie isn't playing, he really shouldn't play games against Stoke given how fragile he is but on the other hand the Premier League is a physical league...
