UEFA Champions League/Europa League 23/24/25 August *** Spoilers ***

I think RVP will be back from suspension, as would Nasri be but he'll probably have left the club by then. My main worry isn't so much the defence, which is as bad as ever, but the fact that without Wilshere we look devoid of creativity or attacking threat. That we managed to win 1-0 in the first leg is more to do with luck and Ramsey providing one good pass in the game. I just don't see how we're going to score and not concede with the options we have available.

I think in all honesty it was just because Udinese hadn't played any competitive games yet, the first 10 minutes they barely played football, after that they picked up significantly and Arsenal got outplayed from then on. Basically if we hadn't scored in that first few minutes I didn't think we would have at all.

UEFA are quite happy to overlook racist chants, corruption and eye-poking/gouging - But the unhappy looking Frenchman with the phone - BAN HIM!

The eye gouging was in a Spanish crap cup game, Uefa shouldn't do anything about that, the Spanish FA certainly should fine/ban him for unsportsman like conduct, but then the Spanish FA don't want to give Mourinho yet more ammo in his usual "Mourinho/Real against the world" thing he goes on about and how Barca get everything. They still should have done him.

Wenger was banned from the bench, for complaining incorrectly about a woeful decision, two rights don't make a wrong and all that. Anyway, flouting the rules, and so damn obviously is just beyond stupid.

I couldn't care less, he had no influence in the first game by making the sub calls himself, getting them wrong as per usual. Maybe we'll see some correct decisions in the next game.

ANyway, RVP being back won't change much, he was useless/toothless in the prem league games because he gets no service, is a horrible lone striker and in general his interplay is SO much worse than it used to be(seriously watch vids of his first couple seasons, the freekicks, the scoring from tight angles after doing several players coming in from the wing, passing, flicks, tricks, everything). If Wilshire was back, thats a different story, preseason with and without Wilshire in central midfield was absolutely night and day, utterly different team with him back in it.

As with Cesc, a average team with a guy who can dominate central mid all by himself and pick out game winning passes throughout can make an average side very very good.

After watching the highlights of the game on saturday, i'm somewhat optimistic about our chances. That is if Frimpong plays. He looked good, especially compared to Song, as he seemed to actually know how to play football and the position of DM in particular. Song can be decent at times but most of the time I watch him play he just looks like lumbering buffoon.

Frimpong was NOT good in that game and highlights tend to ignore most of the useless things players did. Frimpong had a 10-15min spell where his passing wasn't completely attrocious, in the first half he was almost as bad Arshavin, but was also seemingly doing his best to get sent off on top of being useless.

He had his moments ie one in particular where he could have scored but his tackling was atrocious and he was rightly sent off.

Fact is hes just another Song Mk2, sometimes good but usually rubbish...although ill give him the benefit of the doubt as hes still young but we could do with a decent all round DM for once and not one that seems to run like a headless chicken trying to score outrageous goals:p.

Arsenal training news ahead of CL qualifier v Udinese: Nasri, Djourou train, Wilshere, Rosicky & Squillaci don't. But will Nasri play?

From twitter. :( We really need wilshere to come back ASAP.

Hmm, I was thinking that it was unlikely Bendtner would be going to a champs league club, but then Stoke are in Europe, actually I can't even remember their result, did they go through, in which case Bendtner can't play and still have the option of playing in Europe for Stoke.

Wenger's a douchebag even putting the team in this position. How in the hell did we loan out Vela, while intending to sell Bendtner and Nasri? Vela in preseason looked absolutely great, our sharpest finisher by a country mile, and not bad on the wing considering its absolutely not his position at all.

Just madness at the moment, you do wonder, that paranoid feeling you get, maybe our books are being cooked and we're really just in massive debt and struggling badly, offloading as much in wages as we can.
