You can't just retire mid-contract. Providing he's within last couple of years of his contract, he can buy himself out under the Webster ruling (although that's still to be tested (the top sides believe they can block it)) but if he's got longer than that, City could potentially sue him for whatever they can prove he was worth if he retires.

I'm sure in this day and age he could do something to get "sacked" or some other way to go back to his family. Maybe sighting personal reasons .......
 
yeah only a couple of times - only managed to see it once and my view isn't too good. I lose count how many times they replay goals and other incidents in a game.
