UEFA Champions League/Europa League 29/30 April 01 May *** Spoilers ***

Is Ribery the most overrated player in the world? He's been atrocious whenever I've watched him.

One of, he was very good for most of last season but it was Robben scoring in finals, semi finals. But for me Guardiola chose his new Messi, in Robben. AS the season has progressed the ball more and more flows through Robben, they do everything through Robben. It looks intentional and Guardiola's plan which isn't helping Ribery I don't think. But he's also been injured and had a minor surgery. He certainly hasn't looked anywhere near as good this season to last season.

He doesn't seem to step up in many big games but he was certainly very good in multiple champs league games last year.

It's a crying shame that they never done it when they were still at Spurs though :p

Come now, you know they wouldnt be at real without being tricking awesome for spurs beforehand.

WHL the breeding ground of future winners (post transfer). In other news, Why doesnt someone go for goetze? I haven't seen him start a big match under guardiola.

Oh yeah...good point.

Awkward.

:p

the team is playing the way it is as a result of Guardiola though, it's completely his style and tactics. The team seems utterly entrenched in the tactics. New guy said he wanted them to be more direct but just can't seem to achieve it. Too many players with the same mentality and style. I certainly think Fabregas moves the ball faster and plays a lot more balls over the top and throughballs and he missed most of the Guardiola era... coincidence?

Totally agree. I thought that Pep made a huge mistake by not rebuilding the Barca midfield around Fabregas and Thiago. Move the ball faster and more directly, a little more physical, and a lot more stamina.

Edit: That pass from Xabi Alonso was insane - sticking backspin on that while it was airborne!
