UEFA Champions League/Europa League 3/4/5 April *** Spoilers ***

There we go, Barca setting up a likely semi final with Chelsea. Milan were good value tonight and the second penalty spoiled the game a bit, was shaping up to be a good one.

Edit: I'm with DM on the 2nd penalty, Busquets clearly has hold of Nesta too and I have no idea what Puyol is trying to do other than bring down his own player to draw the referee's attention.

Thought the 2nd pen was a complete joke :o as said a reverse angle would have helped but assuming the Ref had clear sight he should have halted the corner pulled out a yellow card and then continued on. Did look rather staged too.

I hope someone silences Barca this season be it Chelsea or the more likely Bayern

If Chelsea knock Barca out, I will record me cooking my football boots and eating them, and upload it all to youtube for all to see. :p

Felt sorry for Seedorf, he was great at the San Siro but tonight he couldnt handle the attacking onslaught of Barca. Could very well be his final CL game, but at least he can bow out with an excellent winners record.

Yeah Chelsea have next to no chance. They'd have to play a stifling game and all Barca will do against that, if it works (I don't see how with their current penchant for conceding against **** teams?) is just get one of the usual suspects to feign being punched in the face and get players sent off to make their lives easier. And they'll cry a lot.

Of course, it would be amusing if Chelsea pulled off a huge, jammy, lucky upset (Torres with the winner lulz) and Barca get super butthurt, like they did with Inter but... very unlikely.

Either Madrid or Bayern could beat them in the final though. Madrid would have to overcome their inferiority complex and be clinical against them for once - they completely bossed them for most of the 2nd leg of the Copa Del Ray 2-2 game at the Nou but missed about 6 golden chances in front of goal when it was 0-0 and then had to come from 0-2 behind - it's a one-off game like the Copa Del Ray final, Bayern would have the home advantage obviously... I haven't really watched much of them this year - how much better are they than when they were fairly comfortably beaten in the final by Inter?

Thing is, if that really is what they were doing they have practiced a really quite serious way to cheat, like, practicing winning penaltys and getting people red carded, with special set piece moves..... if that is what they've done, and it really looks like it, then i'm pretty irate about it. Like I said, I won't ever condone cheating, ever, but I can understand the motivation for Wigan players, I can't understand it from Barca.

Yeah you could make the argument that Wigan have no pressure to win titles and Barca are expected to win something this year, that is a reason..... but sane people will realise they won't win the champs league every year, no other manager in the world has been fired for failing to win it back to back, nor player. I still don't care, winning everything most of the time isn't an excuse for cheating to try and win everything all the time, get over it.

I think one of the main things with shirt pulling, and I will let the ref off slightly, is that most ref's don't give it UNLESS it causes a player to go down obviously. I mean there is just so much shirt pulling its a joke, a complete and utter joke, but the vast majority is argy bargy and nothing really happens. Now pull shirts AND the player goes down with the defender all over them, they still aren't given that often, but way more often than two guys pulling shirts and no one goes down. So its like Busquet's is basically risking nothing by pulling a shirt and calling the ref, at that stage even if the ref see's Busquet's pulling his shirt... its like every other corner for 5 years. As soon as Puyol(on the ref's blindside) shoves both to the ground it suddenly becomes Busquets running at the ball and Nesta falling all over Busquets, shirt pulling and a penalty.

Like I said, it looked rehearsed as the only way those will be given is, Busquets run, blocks Puyol's action from the ref, and ends up with Nesta on top of him on the floor. In terms of it actually being a penalty, from the camera's side, Puyol is the reason for both players to go down, if Nesta wasn't holding his shirt Busquet's was shoved over by Puyol, its never a penalty IF the ref see's the whole story.

biscuits is an absolute disgrace of a 'dm', never have I seen a lad as obviously strong looking as him, go down from a feathers touch, and then act like he has just taken an arrow to the knee.

Good on Ibra for speaking his mind. Its so ovbious how much Uefa love Barcelona. Barca getting two pens and Milan didn't get theirs. I really hope Barca don't win this year.

Ibrahimovic said:
"How can he give a penalty like that?" Ibrahimovic told Mediaset. "If he gave that penalty, he should have given my penalty.

"The game is not about the man in green. It's a shame. I couldn't believe he called a penalty when the ball wasn't in play.

"It seems like Uefa wants a certain two teams in the Champions League final. Now I understand how Mourinho feels every time he comes to Camp Nou."

Barca vs Madrid final would be a good advertisement for the CL. I hope Its Chelsea vs Munich though. We don't need another bad tempered El Clasico to ruin a final.

Missed the match but would much rather watch Barca than a flakey Milan side.

If they hadn't been so pathetically negative at home they might be through instead of whining about refs.

I have watched Barca but i have come to dislike their game unlike the majority. i think the plays have mastered the art of cheating!. I have seen though Messi is never amused with his team mates actions and rarely do you see him as part of those surrounding the ref or rolling when there ins,t even contact.

When Barca is overpowering you the game flows normally but when you get into a stronger position they will look for fights, surround the ref on every simple foul, look for red cards, i saw it against arsenal, they do it every time they play Real. Madrid. And the worst part is the opposing teams fall into their trap and start acting like crazy.

I wouldn't mind if any middle ranked team was doing that but if you claim you are the best team in the world then you should show us that you have the mental character of wining games like last night one without resorting to dramatic seeking of favors when you realize the opposing team is doing their job right. Barca can beat any team without having to cheat or look like doing so! otherwise they won't look as a grate team as every body seems to think.

Why do people only see whats 'given' to barca? Yea second penalty is debatable but like in 09 with chelsea people foget about the 1st leg mistakes agaisnt barca. Anybody else notice some of the milans players fouls, they seem to like having a pop at the standing leg.

Every team has players that surround the ref, moans about the ref, dives, looks for fouls etc - part of the game, like it or not, its there.

Barca just get picked up on more because every man and his dog wants to over analyze everything they do.

Easy to ignore the pen Barca should have had in the first leg? And the red card probably leading to more away goals ( assuming the pen would be scored )
The quality of officiating kept Milan in the tie in all honesty, how they can complain I'll never know

Pretty much my sentiments and along with the absymal pitch at Milans ground...they cant really complain tbf...if they had managed to score at home then perhaps they would find themselves in the semi's rather than Barca.

Hopefully Benfica will pull off a win tonight to knock Chelsea out although i cant see it really...Benfica arent a very good side and whoever gets through tonight is going to have one hell of a time against Barca;).
