UEFA Champions League/Europa League 30th April - 2nd May *** Spoilers ***

Thing is, I believe that we would have done better had TAA and Firmino started the game, so by that logic I have to be critical of the team selection. Like I say, we will just have to agree to disagree on that team selection and whether it lessened the chances of us getting a result or whether the team selection was fairly inconsequential to the result. I wont comment upon Klopps reasons for the decisions made because I dont know the guy and I'm not a football manager, so all I can do is look at it from my armchair and give my own thoughts and then stand by them. Which is why we will just have to agree to disagree :)
Ok, as I said with hindsight it's easy to say that we should have played a different team. Had Trent started today and Alba and Coutinho tore him apart then Klopp's getting criticised for starting Trent. You only have to look at posts on here to see Klopp getting criticised for starting Trent vs Huddersfield on Friday. He has to make a decision before the game and one thing is for sure, he didn't bottle it. He picked a side and set them up which played relatively well and on another day, with just a few small details different, comes away with a great result.
Yeah Gomez is the only poor choice, seems obvious given coutinho isn’t fast and will just cut into our midfield.

Firmino injury destroyed us, we perform even better with him on and score :(

It was the combined threat of Coutinho and Alba. With Coutinho coming inside, dragging the fullback in, Alba has the space to bomb forward. Coutinho coming off made things easier to deal with but there ws still the threat of Alba breaking forward.

Well Gomez did **** all to stop anything tbf anyway. (Agree with the notion that Klopp bottled it is nonsense, we did fantastic and got undone by some class stuff/luck/***********, Barca won’t get many more fortunate games than that)

Also weird Messi swinging for Fabinho’s head before the freekick, I’ve rarely seen him act like he did tonight

I wouldnt have criticised him if he had picked TAA and it then not worked out, because thats the selection I would have picked myself, so wouldnt make any sense for me to criticise it. I would however criticise him if he picked TAA and then upon seeing that it wasnt working out didnt do anything about it of course. Obviously if I think someone has done something I disagree with then I am going to criticise them for it, nobody is bulletproof of course. As I've said twice , you and I will simply have to agree to disagree, which I am more than happy to agree to.

I was also surprised by the behaviour of Messi tonight, I never really thought of him in that way but the way he barrel rolled along the touchline as if he was rolling down the side of the Grand Canyon and other things in the match really lowered the way I view him a few notches.

I wasn't suggesting you would have but others would. Football isn't black and white where if we started with Trent then we would have definitely won. There are potential risks and rewards for every decision Klopp makes. He knew full well that we'd be less of an attacking threat without Trent but he decided that the extra defensive cover Gomez would provide was more important - if the result doesn't go our way then which every decision he made somebody would be critical of. We'll never know if Klopp's decisions today were for the best or not - had Trent started maybe we get a draw or maybe we lose 4-0. You might but I'm not going to be overly critical of the decisions the manager made when there was a hell of a lot more that he could have got wrong than right. For all your criticisms we played well enough to have got a result today and poor finishing was a far bigger factor in the result than any decision Klopp made.

Yeah I’ve seen him do it in the odd Classico where he gets kicked about but he threw in some bad fouls and honestly could’ve seen red punching Fabinho.

The rolls weee funny but that was a ********* tackle from Milner and should’ve been yellow, the laugh after was hilarious.

Oh Im sure others would have, but I am really not interested in what others do and dont criticise, other people simply arent that important enough for me to care. Dont get me wrong, I'm not saying that I think we were guaranteed to win if TAA had started, I'm saying that I think our chances would have been better if TAA had started. As I said previously, firstly I am not going to say what Klopp knew and didnt know because I'm not him or in his head, so at best it would be a guess and at worst it would be speculation and secondly, as mentioned before several times I am happy that we agree to disagree, I've no interest or gain in trying to make anyone think that my way of thinking is right and theirs is wrong. I merely voice my thoughts and then am happy to accept that others are different to mine, thats quite sufficient for me :)

He's clearly trying to get his arm around Fabinho and the Liverpool player has just continued to step across to not give him a chance in hell of wriggling past. I'd say if you move across a player like that they can punch/headbutt/whatever if they are genuinely try to get past them, you can't avoid what part of their body they are moving infront of your path. It's why that action by Fabinho will always result in a yellow card; it's stopping their play, it's putting them and yourself in danger and it's usually off the ball.

Biscuits got away with a challenge about 6 months late as well.

Only real difference was luck, Barcelona for were outplayedthe most part, other than a rebound goal and deflected free kick, Messi was pretty much handled.

Luck is an easy excuse, let’s not pretend our finishing isn’t sub par.

I do think we win with Bobby though, weird time to not ‘risk’ it

Strange to hear Klopp say we can't play any better  On the face of it, it doesn't seem like that would motivate the players for the 2nd leg? Played as good as you can and got beat 3 nil.
