UEFA Champions League/Europa League 5/6/7 April *** Spoilers ***

that doesn't even make sense. Carroll has a lot to prove

I don't think he has anything to prove, people were talking about him while at Newcastle and rightly so, he did well.

Now Kenny comes along with £50m burning a hole and wants a replacement for Torres and he goes for Carroll at £35m.

He was never hyped up as the next best thing and he never talked himself up so I don't see what he has to prove at all.

One: My original comment was in regards to Berbatov's 'worth'.

Two: Mourinho has sod all say in what we should ask for a player.

Berbatov's goals this season should have gone a fair way in making UTD feel better about the fee.
If you want to make some generalised statement, then why are you quoting me?

And I don't think Mourinho started his comment with "as acting financial director of Tottenham Hotspur FC..." as far as I can recall.

Right guys I have been thinking and I believe I have come to a solution that will benefit and unite football fans around the world.

We all need to calm down and congratulate every player/manager and praise the great and tough job the officials do.

It is only then will the guys who make all the important decisions will make the right ones.
they say its to hard to incorporate goal line technology and the fans love the contraversy it causes, it gives us something to talk about ans feel passionate about.

So I ask you all to do the right thing and join me in this campaign!

I can say hand on heart the game was perfect and officiated to a godly level of professionalism.
My man of the match? The guys in yellow can share the accolade.

It doesn't much matter what he himself has said or whether he has an ego the size of Bendtner - if someone is going to pay £Xm for a player then people will be looking to see what kind of return they offer on the fee. That's something to prove - it might not be fair but so it goes.

Nice goal by Man Utd, it was a lovely little touch by Giggs. Chelsea were rather unlucky not to get a penalty given for the foul on Ramires but overall I don't think the result was especially unfair.

Come off it Loki.

It was ALL Chelsea second half, they were all over United for large parts of the second half, United edged it in the first. Great goal and unlike Chelsea looked lethal at times going forward (broke with pace a few times ect ect) :)

Im inclined to agree with this statement, although I feel it wasn't ALL Chelsea in the first half, Man United had a large measure of control. This control was more lacking in the second half and Chelsea did boss it towards the end though. Man United played it as they have always played it against the bigger team, especially Arsenal. A strong performance, built around the counter attack and the clinical finishing of the front two.

Also, special mention to Valencia, fantastic game :D

Yuo agreed, I thought Man Utd were excellent in the first half and as you would expect had to cope with Chelsea pressure in the second half, we defended better than I have seen for most of this season and seeing the line ups I expected Drogba and Torres to batter us, Ferdinand was excellent.

Tony V is probably now the best right back in the league imo.

What the hell was Rooney's celebration all about though ...

Yup. I thought United didn't boss the first half in the same dominating way Chelsea bossed the second but they were in charge for long periods of the first half.

Little Pea <33

Bit of blatant slating of the Ref there from Carlo..

Can you blame him...there should have been at least one penalty given...god help us if it was Utd that were on the end of that call;)...you would never hear the end of it from Fergie:p

Didnt bother watching the Utd game as my interest was more towards the Barca game, who totally shredded Shaktar a new one...5-1, similar to what Real did last night to the Spurs:p.....i just caught the highlights of the Utd Chelsea game and do think Chelsea were robbed of at least one penalty shout...how the ref did not see that or send the player off is truly beyone me:confused:

We were....like three weeks ago, people have very short memories

Chelsea can't complain about the ref tonight, they could have had a couple of red cards and VdS got a yellow for absolutely nothing.

There shouldn't have been any reds (and that includes Ferdinand), and VDS knew exactly what he was doing.

He made out as if he was taking the kick (spotted the ball up etc) and then, after Vidic had walked off, he calls him back to take the kick.
