Thats really harsh imo.
Ask yourself this, did he genuinely attempt to get the ball? If so, yellow card, if not, red. He barged him and made no attempt to get the ball.

There's no way on earth that is a red card, at least the ref was consistent as he gave a freekick for a shoulder challenge in the 1st half.
How many reds has got now?
Well it is. Goal scoring opportunity. I didnt think so at first but you cant deny it really.
It's only a red card if the player hasn't made an attempt to play the ball.
Kos is trying to get a leg in front by using his body and play the ball... He hasn't just shoved him over from behind or dragged him back therefore it's only a yellow card.
The fact he gave a yellow to begin with shows that the ref knows the rules, but he's either given a second yellow for chatting back or that bell on the line has changed the refs mind.

Oh well, what's arsene going to blame this loss on? Poor ref? No blame on him or his players.
By that description you can just run directly into the back of the player... as long as your intention was to get the ball and the player being there didn't matter. Put your leg infront of a player running forwards and A, you'll trip the player and B, the ball that is moving away from you, you won't get near it.
The genuine attempt to get the ball thing also means, you actually have to have a chance of getting the ball.
But importantly he didn't actually try and do what you said, he didn't get his leg in front of him, watch it again, he just leant into him, he wasn't at that moment at all trying to get his leg in front of him, he came from behind barged him, nothing more too it.
I can't actually believe you think that Kos foul is worthy of being a man down for the rest of the game. Give him a yellow but not a red

Do you think the pre game demonstrations helped the atmosphere tonight?
It wasn't the most blatant red you'll see but it's easy to see why it was given. The rules were changed so that only if you make a genuine attempt to win the ball that it's a yellow rather than red - it's easy to see why somebody would say that he didn't make a genuine attempt.I can't actually believe you think that Kos foul is worthy of being a man down for the rest of the game.
