UEFA Champions League/Europa League Quarter-Final Draw - 21st March

Maybe just go with the same formula that worked against Olympiakos? All this chopping and changing probably is part of the problem.

Edit: Yeah Rafael at LB seems wise as Evra can't play.

No RvP for these games either:

Manchester United ‏@ManUtd
BREAKING: Following further investigation, Robin van Persie has a sprained knee, which will keep him out for around four to six weeks.

Personally its not so much about pace at LB , its about using their head. Rafael woudl be too rash imo (as has been proven too many times in the past). Giggs would be ideal.

Januzaj could always play behind Rooney (if Moyes doesnt want to use Kagawa wihich is likely unfortunately)

edit - lets face it - it will be a mauling anyway no matter who plays where ):

Given that winning the CL is their only way back in it at this point, a loss wouldn't be 'accepted' so easily.

Well, most fans and the MU board, seem happy with 7th place in the league.
So would they not be happy with a QF place in the Champions League?

For all of Moyes' poor tactics domestically, it is baffling that in the Champ League, his record is pretty good. To make it to the QF at the first attempt, isnt actually bad.

I think expectations have fallen so low now, that even if we get beat 5-1 or similar by Munich, most people will accept this score quite happily.

My issue is that domestically, he is dire and when he has to face Chelsea or Man City (and I am now adding Liverpool to the list), he is out of ideas. How is Moyes ever going to win the league...I just can't see this ever happening.

My own frustration boils down to the reasoning of hiring in the first place. He hasnt won a single trophy and he gets the top job in English football. This makes no sense to me.

El Plastico is on then, P$G should be favourites against Chel$ea for me but just barely as it's a very close tie but i think P$G are better in all departments especially in attack with Ibra while Chel$ea dont have a top striker.

You're right. Player vs Player, I think PSG are stronger.
But Chelsea have Mourinho.
I'd say that this tie could go either way. 50-50.

Now the Dust has settled I think we've got about as easy a tie as we'll ever get at this stage. I'll have to scope the PSG side out though as I know nowt about them.
I'm not scared though. :D

Looks like United are home first? unfortunately i think that's decided it.

If they were home 2nd then if they got out the allianz arena alive (perhaps due to a poor first half by a slightly over respectful / nervy Bayern) anything could've happened at OT.

Dude, if we could loan in Messi and Ronaldo till the end of the season, we'd still get beaten by Bayern. The problem is that we have a manager who isnt tactically equipped to beat top sides. His record against top sides is terrible.

Kagawa isnt as great as some people seem to believe. He was sidelined by Fergie and continues to be sidelined by Moyes. When 2 successive managers marginlise a player, you know that he isnt a great player. Perhaps he is poor in training. Not sure.

Nonsense, Kagawa has already proved he's an excellent player at a top club in a top league. Fergie and Moyes are both tactically inflexible. Fergie wanted to stick with wingers and Moyes just copies what ever Fergie did.
