UEFA Champions League/Europa League ** Spoilers ** [3/4/5 November 2015]

Bar the finishing and the last 10 minutes I'm very happy with that. Controlled the game, looked more confident on the ball and passed it around with authority. Sturridge will add the final piece to the jigsaw and give the midfield an outlet upfront but we're improving rapidly without him :)

Sakho MotM for me. Defended very well, only missed a couple of passes and was more vocal without Skrtel next to him. Future captain material imo.

Really good performance from us all round today. Weren't hugely threatening in the first half but we were in complete control and never looked under any threat. The first 25 minutes of the second half we were excellent though and should have been 3 or 4 up but for better finishing and final balls. Naturally they came into the game in the last 10 minutes chasing the equaliser but again they never looked like causing us any problems.

spurs will be ruined for sunday :(

i hate being in this Europa league, all our weekend games are sundays meaning i dont go for family commitments, the Sunday games never have as good a atmosphere and i think it costs us 6 points a year minimum!

just seen dembeles strike too wow

3 goals in 3 games and improved other elements of his game. hope he keeps it up

sounds like lamela had a poor game, not sure if son wil be fit enough to start against arsenal

How often do teams play Wednesday then Saturday though? As a general rule teams that play Wednesday in Europe will play their League game on the Sunday.

edit: As far as I know the only times teams play Wednesday/Saturday is if they agree to it - usually so their match is televised and they get the extra money for that.

No more than any other team who play on Wednesday night then again on Saturday, I've never quite understood why people say it's really hard playing Thursdays and Sundays.

I don't get it either. These guys are professional athletes. It takes me 2 or 3 days to recover from a gym session. I'm sure they can manage

All 3 of Chelsea's Wednesday night games this season have been followed by Saturday games then one followed by a Tuesday game.
It's a fixture congestion thing and you just get on with it.

All 3 of those Saturday games have been televised iinm. Chelsea would have had the choice of moving the games to Sunday but chose to take the TV money.
