This Everton squad is a mess - without a recognised centre forward the team lacks any focus. Coupled with an ageing defence/un-tested younger stand-ins this is not looking good for the blues. Serious questions to be asked of Steve Walsh and his part in the recruitment policy.

They have a recognised striker... Rooney. Even playing in midfield he's scored more than anyone else in the Everton team, his general ability as a midfielder (minus the occasional Hollywood pass or goal) is terrible so I don't know why he plays there. Mourinho rightly recognised that he wasn't a very good midfielder. He may not be the fastest or smartest striker but his finishing is still decent, the trouble is even when he's played up top he thinks it's his role to drop to the half way line for touches. Brainless.
