i know balo has had a **** poor start of the seson but i think he should be paying right now.... They need his strength...

Thats like asking why do players dive to try and win a penalty when they have just been nudged. Because thats the only time you can con the ref. If you get a knock in the box and dive 2 yards later its probably going to be given as a dive. You stop and hit another player its probably going to be a red. If you make the contact look like an accident you might get away with it.

He was stupid and deserved a red for it. Getting hit in the eye by someones fingernail they flung behind them could do a lot of damage.

Again, this all goes back to my point that I made during the weekend matches. Most footballers, believe it or not, are not out to attempt GBH. The way some "fans" go on it's like every bit of contact was a deliberate attempt to end somebody's career.

I think it looked worse in replays as in you could mistake it for thinking he was raising studs at the player, but he was really just sticking his leg out across him. Unless you mean a yellow for such an intentional foul and he's already on one, I've been flicking between games, not noticed if he's on a yellow.

Thought it was a clear yellow myself and dislike it when ref's make such weak decisions, ie that would have been a yellow if he wasn't already on one.

Nor are they all angelic sweetness and light, sometimes they do actually cynically try to hit, shove, bump, trip and even bite other players for a variety of reasons.

You are not allow to intentionally lash out at another player. By the letter of the law it is a red. That could have done some serious damage had it caught him in the wrong place. At what point would you deem an intentional violent action red worthy.
