UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL ... Bayern Munich v Chelsea ... *** Spoilers ***

Aww, thats not nice (I don't really care either way anyway tbh:p). Seriously though, it is out of order that Tottenham's(or anyones) place in the Champions League depends on something that they could not have had any influence over!

They did have control over it, finish 3rd and don't leave it to chance.

I don't think anyone can argue it's unfair, the winners should be able to enter through the qualifiers in place of some Latvian team or whatever.

The fact Spurs qualified fair and square after 38 games... just Chelsea get hammered for 3 games and go through after some serious fluke of luck stumble through them to replace Spurs.

Is it really a fair reflection?

Yes deal with it.

Great result for Chelsea, genuinely delighted for them. Like Lampard said, they were never going to win the CL this season by playing attractive football, they showed incredible determination and spirit, mixed in with some luck, and that was enough to win it for them.

I'd be amazed if RDM doesn't get offered the permanent job, and if spurs manage to hang on to their best players. I can't see Modric and Bale staying another season. Also, does anyone else think Abramovich should have looked happier? He still looked like he was struggling to smile!

Why should Latvian teams suffer? :confused:

Spurs didn't do enough to qualify, as you've just seen.

Chelsea were excellent and they deserve to win. Okay, they aren't Barcelona but they were resilient and excellent defensively and took their chances when they had to.

Congratulations to Chelsea. Proof that money can buy you success.

Personally, I'd rather win a European cup (regardless of money spent) playing good football. So personally, it's a hollow victory.

<Insert everyone moaning at me>

What money have they spent this season? Mata?

So it's unfair if the 4th place side in England loses out but it's fine for the Champions of Latvia?
My word this forum.......
