UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL ... Bayern Munich v Chelsea ... *** Spoilers ***

My word this forum.......

Why not take all the spots away from Latvia and similar nations and give 5 spots to all the bigger nations. You have to draw the line somewhere and if the line's drawn at 4 clubs from any one nation then the fairest (not necessarily fair) ways is for the 4th place side in England to miss out.

Fitting that Roy Keane is analysing Drogba's header it was so similar to Keane's against Juve in 99

About £30m firing, hiring and firing managers. And a good £40m on Meireles, Lukaku + a couple of others as well as £23m on Mata. That's a fair bit :p

Yeah because Lukaku has done a lot :p

Meireless is a bit time player too.

These players bar Cahill and Luiz were signed blooming ages ago, will people never let the Roman spending die?

Sorry chong warrior but you're just coming off like a sore loser. Absolutely no logic to what your saying. Yes I feel for Spurs, but you can't seriously be suggesting that a team from a lesser league, who has done better than spurs in their league, should have their place taken away from them simply because they play in a lesser league?!

To be honest I'm not a fan of defensive football but a lot of people are talking some rubbish, Chelsea weren't massively outplayed by Barca or Bayern, their tactic was to concede the ball up till the final third and defend well there, they did this in both games.

There was some luck, there isn't a win in football that doesn't have some luck in it. Chelsea didn't fluke most of the blocks tonight, Lampard was absolutely outstanding, he was everywhere, sometimes tackling, sometimes blocking, sometimes just putting the shooter under pressure, Mikel was also very good.

As for not exciting, sorry but that's BS as well, the Barca/Chelsea and Chelsea/Bayern games were both epic, nothing less, seen awful games with two top teams where neither attack or both pack midfield and neither has many shots at all, those are boring. This was pure entertainment start to finish.

I prefer seeing full on attack vs full on attack, that rarely happens, though I actually think Chelsea could have done just as well doing that tonight. Passing wise, I think Chelsea were actually better, just not sustained, some of the passing out of defence and around midfield, one touch passing, only a few times throughout when they actually looked like they wanted to keep it, was fantastic. Shame they didn't want to attack but that is life.

Chelsea's defence was better than Bayern's and Barca's attack, and Drogba, what a god damned beast of a player.

Only have to continually laugh at everyone who especially early season, but some on here throughout the old season, who went on at length about "old guards" and past it players and Lampard and Drogba being too old. Two of the best players in the champs league and prem league this season, Cech has come back to his best form, and since AVB has gone Cashley, much as I hate him, has been absolutely outstanding.

Well done Chelsea, unlucky Spurs, Ribery and Robben weren't good enough, Kroos.... haven't yet, and don't think I ever will work out why he's rated at all. Muller, great goal, awful manager decision, take off a scorer when he's a part of your build up play and your team is dominating.... NEVER change a key player at an important part of the game, ever, unless absolutely no choice.

What money have they spent this season? Mata?

Over 180mil in wages, about 80mil more than the club can afford ;)

EDIT:- oh, and the anti Terry, shouldn't have held the trophy stuff is a joke, neither should any other player who didn't play in the final but played in other games? He made a mistake, that's life, everyone else should be able to celebrate but Chelsea, like no other arrogant *** of a player hasn't been able to celebrate with his team. Hate the man, but on the pitch he's been a rock this season and great in the champs league.

Also Cech, seriously, 6 penalties, 3 saves, went the right way for each one...... epic against Liverpool, epic against Bayern, epic against Barca.....

I don't think anyone can argue it's unfair, the winners should be able to enter through the qualifiers in place of some Latvian team or whatever.

The fact Spurs qualified fair and square after 38 games... just Chelsea get hammered for 3 games and go through after some serious fluke of luck stumble through them to replace Spurs.

Is it really a fair reflection?

Yes, it's called the Champion's League, not the "We made 4th place" League.

I don't see why we couldn't just be stuck in some sort of pre-qualifying qualifyer, no teams have to lose out as such?

With that said, I hope Harry takes the Europa league a little more seriously this time...

The rules were there since liverpool did it, 4th isn't qualified while there is an English team still in the CL.

Yes it sucks for tottenham but crying over it wont suddenly make UEFA feel bad, I can assure you.

As politely said a little above, deal with it.

The fact that Meireles got himself suspended for this final for picking up 3 yellow cards kinda proves he wasn't a bit part player

I dont see why people shouldn't mention RA's spending, after all without him who knows where Chelsea would be today.... they could potentially be known today as West London FC without RA :p

yup - pretty much spot on.

That's how I see it

But then they'd have to find an extra team for Spurs to play, and surely then one of the groups would have 5 teams in it?
