I am glad to see the back of Drogba, as good as he can be the cheating and diving should have got him an award in Cannes this week!

Hopefully he takes Terry, Malouda, Ferriera, Turnball, Hilario, Mikel and Bosingwa with him!

That kind of theatrics is just commonplace in todays football. You can't really single him out.

I can and will because he is at my club and I expect him to be a man, I wont (unlike 'Arry) talk about other clubs players if I can help it.

thing is you have 2 problems

1) they keep diving and the manager does nothing about it, so really can't blame the players if there "encouraged" to keep doing it

2) if you don't go over it seems most the time that you don't get the call in your favour even if it is a proper foul.

I do agree with you but this is a sport and it is turning into a game.

The Refs are awful, pretty bad when the officials get praised for doing their job properly or getting a decision correct, most are 50/50 so they are bound by the odds to get a few right.

Managers and pundits are to blame as it isn't considered diving, it is referred to as "clever play" by those @ss clowns in the commentary box!!!!

I think Drogba gets a lot of unfair accusations of diving. It's really not what he does, in general he goes down fairly easily but more than anything he makes a meal everytime he does get fouled and stays down for ages.

I'm not a fan of either, but in general I regard "diving" as those who go down without contact. AS in, run past someone and throw themselves to the floor pretending there was contact.

I'm sure he has done that at Chelsea but I don't remember him doing it much at all, after the Barca game people were saying he dived a lot, which isn't true. Spent half the game on the floor making a meal of tackles and time wasting, but that is still very different to diving.

don't get me started on that "oh clever bit of play there" , no you idiot its called cheating

the refs/officials have a hard job with the players trying to cheat them, you see replays whereby someone kicks it out of play then appeals for the throw in/corner, i mean come on wtf ??

as for managers complaining about penalties given or bad decisions, they need to get there own house in order first.

i know it would be limited to the prem to start with but what i'd like to see is retrospective cards given/points deducted, whereby refs and ex players watch the video from the weekend games and any one cheating gets the team punished.

yes, i know it won't happen but it would sort out the idiots who are spoiling the game.

saying that i saw a classic in the italian cup, whereby a player is literally getting strangled/choked by a defender so he throws an elbow back to get himself free and he gets sent off.

Went up town watching the game in the pub, was a great atmosphere and nearly everyone was cheering for Chelsea, few idiots cheering for the Germans.

Loved the game, was pretty boring in the first half but thats football.

So many bitter people on here, congrats Chelsea, great send off for Drogba.

What about Ribery, that guy should clean up at the Oscars next year, he was is an insult to the game.

A sad day to see a Chelsea legend go. His record over eight years speaks for itself:

• Appearances: 342
• Goals: 157
• Honours:
Champions League: 2011-12
• Premier League top goalscorer: 2007, 2010

Thank you for everything that you've given us Didier and good luck for the future at White Hart Lane. :)

Fixed.. :)

I wish. The bloke is a legend. The goal in the FACSEMi might not have been the most important but surely was one of his best.. Mind you the force and angle of that recent header.. He knew exactly where that was going. How many corners did you have in the game? How many did they have.. LOL.. effective attacking.

So he's gonna leave an EPL side where he's won the CL to a side that can't even qualify for the comp?

;)
