UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL ... Bayern Munich v Chelsea ... *** Spoilers ***

I think legend is used to often, he is good and one of the Chelsea greats but I don't think he is up there with Osgood, Cooke, Zola and Lampard.

I didn't know anything about that, are you solely against it because you're anti-abortion?

sorry, just noticed your reply.

i'm not sure if i'm anti-abortion or not, it just makes him even more scummier in my eyes. it's not like he couldn't have provided for the child.

think about it, it's bad enough sleeping with your mates gf but getting her pregnant and then aborting the child created due to their seedy affair is just awful. he was having unprotected sex with her (just how much lower could you get doing this to your mates gf) and was totally blasé about the whole risk and consequences.

this is not joe average here, this is a multi millionaire club and country captain, with that comes an extra level of responsibility and he should be trying to be a role model. bridge's gf was not innocent in this i know but i found the whole thing disgusting and so did capello, hence he stripped him of the captaincy.

and to top it all off, he tried to get a court injunction to stop the story leaking.

We drove, on the Friday we stayed in Frankfurt then made it into Munich around 1ish, got a room easy(star inn) then into Odensplatz for 'refreshments' before the game!! Amazing journey home on Sunday with chelsea cds.

Nice! Odeonsplatz was quite "interesting" on Saturday afternoon. :D

Strange timing though isn't it, never been a problem when an english side has lost to it.

He talks about footballs essence as a team sport being lost with penalties, problem is the ONLY way to decide a game without making such a comprimise is to keep replaying the tie until we have a winner, which is completely unworkable.

Just keep playing until someone scores...even if it takes hours. It might even make games a bit more exciting because teams will be in a position where they HAVE to score to win, and can not hold on for penalties! ...so you will not see teams with 10 men behind the ball anymore when they are up against it in ET, or late in games

Unfortunately the very best left the game 2 hours ago with a broken leg because the opponents left back didn't have the energy to even bother trying to time his tackle correctly :p.

No doubt this is still better than whatever those idiots come up with.

From reading the BBC article he's also spoken about the "tragedy" of penalty shoot-outs in 2006 when Italy won so it's perhaps not entirely fair to just pick him up on this time. I couldn't say that he definitely didn't speak up again just because an English team won with penalties but equally I don't think you can be entirely certain that was the reason for him.
