Well spotted.

Sometimes a better team beats a good team on the night.

There is no huge consipracy theory here. Most United fans felt the team had things wrong with it going into the season. That flawed team appears to have been good enough to win the league and reach the CL final. TBH I DONT think our team is in any way shape or form the best side in Europe and Bara fully deserved their win last night.

Its the same dodgy team minus Cristiano Ronaldo. What did people think was going to happen.

Oh i dont know Robbo...considering that Utd other than Barca were the best sides in the CL this year...i would have thought that Utd would have given Barca a good run for their money last night...well to be fair for 20mins or so you did and the difference being that you scored a goal last night whereas in 2009 you didnt.

When you have a team of mostly inferior players, there is really only going ot be one real outcome. Its quite simple.

However, I'm not sure our tactic was the best one, the team looked pretty clueless at times.

I think in hindsight, using Nani and Berbatov to try and threaten them a bit more would have been the better option, we could have unsettled their defence. It could also have gone wrong and they would have ripped us apart, but they would have been much less comfortable.

The inclusion of Berbs and Nani in the first XI would have been great if it had worked but if we had lost there would be HUGE questions asked as to why Hernandez and Park/Valencia didnt play given their contribution.

Its one of those situations where only hindsight works.

We did a good job on him over two legs in 2008.

Congratulations on that. You forget to mention that that Barcelona team had no morale, lots of unsettled players in the dressing room, a manager that had lost his way, as well as Messi being only 20 years old - an age at which you can forgive him for not carrying his team through a Champions League semi final against the eventual winners. That was also probably the best Manchester United team I've seen.

Messi at 23 is unstoppable and only getting better.

So Messi at 20 is stoppable but Messi at 23 isn't?

Messi has been pretty quiet in some games in between against other opposition in between 2008 too. The point being that while he is obviously the best in the world, he, nor any other human being on a football pitch, is 'unstoppable'.

Thats funny because Hercules (the Spanish version of Blackpool) stopped him, as have Real Madrid, and Inter before that.

Messi is a truly amazing player but he can be stopped to some extent, just like everyone else.
