I got the impression that he meant Ronaldo through his entire career. He's a *****, but you have to respect how hard he's worked to make himself as good as he is. What he's achieved is incredible, he could easily be no better than Nani or someone, but he worked so hard to be one of the best.

Edit: although "we showed that we can score all the penalties" implies he's worked a bit less hard on his intelligence
