UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL ... Real Madrid v Atlético ... ** Spoilers ** [28th May 2016]

An insight into the mind of a great player. Although I don't think he would be speaking English very often, so probably didn't know what to say.

His English is usually very good and funnily enough he comes across quite likeable in interviews, but that interviewer was horrific.

Oh **** off Ronaldo

Jesus. The way Ronaldo is acting as though he singlehandedly won the cup for Real, ffs... :o

Give it up, same reaction to his celebration in the last CL win. Yes he wasn't man of the match for Real in this single game, but it's a competition and he was the sole reason they got to the final. That was true in the win two years ago and true of the win today. Hat-trick and the only player looking up for it, he actually did pretty much single handedly drag them to the final so yeah, he gets to take credit.

The CL title isn't about one game, it's a tournament and Ronaldo was Real's best player in the tournament by a monumental margin.

He was also, down to very bad luck, injured in the run up to both finals and absolutely no where near peak fitness and certainly playing through pain and giving his all two years ago and looked to be the same situation today. He still sprinted something like 70 yards late in the second half of extra time to help defend a counter attack.

People giving him crap because he's celebrating winning the tournament because of one dodgy performance in which he played injured are beyond help.

This. I cant believe the stick he's getting. 16 goals in 12 champions league games...most players would take 16 goals in the bloody league never mind in a cup competition.

I think I saw a stat the other day suggesting he had 20 CL goals this season (compared to a certain Barca canibal who has 20 in his career)

Not actually dissing LS at all, as even 20 so far is a excellent tally, but it just shows how on a completely different level Ronaldo is on (compared to everyone baring Messi)

To be honest for all the graft and endevour Atleti always show, RM were always likely to win somehow. They just have more players likely to be able to score (in normal time/ et or at Pens)

Nearly anywhere else that Atleti team are good enough to be Champions but the best they can really hope for is 2nd or 3rd every season and a good cup run or three.

The only way any of that team will win anything major is by joining one of the other major european teams (or hope for a EPL 15-16 season in the CL where the smaller teams get a real shot after the big teams drop away)

That's not why I'm giving him stick.

Off the pitch he seems a nice enough guy, a bit odd maybe, but a he's proved his heart is in the right place. His charity is well documented.

Ronaldo's career stats are incredible, he has been an incredible player, he is on the decline but his stats are still out of this world. There's no denying his talents and he deserves the medals he's collected along the way. I respect him for it, not many, if any work harder than he does.

However on the pitch he's still a ****

Caught up with the final this morning , enjoyable game, two exceptional football teams. I would have loved it (Keegan voice) for Athleti to win :(, but that's football.

Real Madrid's defence managed to out dirty the Athleti side . Ronaldo was being his usual humble self post match, nice to see ;).

Thought Clattenberg, actually, had a good game! Shame he cannot do that more in this country.

Have to agree on Clattenburg, just about everything he got wrong in the FA cup final and the last couple of other games he had in the season he got right in the final. He played advantages and wasn't quick to the whistle where he screwed Palace doing the opposite. He bought every dive and soft freekick in the fa cup but in this final he waved away all the diving and shenanigans.

The most anti-Clattenburg performance I've ever seen from him.

Zidane stealing all of Rafa's glory, vile.

Wait?? What??!!???

How has he stolen Rafa's glory?? With Rafa Real were nowhere close to getting the la Liga title. With Zidane they only lost out by a point.

Secondly Rafa got Real to the QF's before he was sacked, Zidane took them all the way.

As much as I hate Real, you cannot be serious that Zidane took Rafa's glory lol.
