lol would be pretty sad if they got in because of it it's not like they lost by 1 goal

CL qualifying format is a load of crap anyway. Designed to keep the rich clubs rich and the poor clubs poor.

Celtic are back in it, given a 3-0 win in the second leg, meaning they progress on away goals!

Should be good for another laugh. Can't see Celtic progressing with the way the team played over the two legs and what Deila was saying about rebuilding the squad.

I wonder how this will go with the players that were supposed to be leaving if they weren't in CL?

From UEFA:

The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body have announced that Legia have been sanctioned for fielding an ineligible player in their second leg against Celtic. The match has been declared as forfeit and Legia have lost the match 3-0. As a consequence, Celtic have qualified for the play-offs on away goals (agg: 4-4) and Legia will compete in the UEFA Europa League play-offs.

The confused face was for the 3-0 result and going through on away goals. Sure kick Legia out, but putting a result down just seems odd.

Hull and Tottenham are in the Europa League play-off draw.

Possible opponents:

Hull: RNK Split (Croatia), Omonia (Cyprus), Lokeren (Belgium), FC Aktobe (Kazakhstan), FC Astra (Romania)

Tottenham: Spartak Trnava (Slovakia), Asteras Tripolis (Greece), Dinamo Minsk (Belarus), Limassol (Cyprus), Hajduk Split (Croatia)

Ties to be played on 21/28 August.

Such a shame for Legia Warsaw, he was only a late time wasting substitution by the sound of it.

BTW how does the forfeit work? if a team is 5-0 up in the first leg can they just not bother turning up for the second leg and win 5-3? or do they forfeit the whole tie?

Yep, for just two minutes! It's not as if it affected the result in any way, but rules are rules and they should have known.

Legia have five days to appeal. I assume they will as it is an excessive punishment for what seems like an honest mistake. The player had missed the previous two matches, but they didn't count toward his suspension because the club hadn't registered him for the competition.

Feel so sorry for Legia; although how can they not know the player was not registered?

Also surely Uefa should not have allowed him on the park?
