** Uefa Champions League, Semi-final ** *spoilers*

Pretty awful, yeah.

Think the team misses Clichy loads, don't realise his presence until it's gone

EDIT - The ref last night was seriously good, Ronaldo must have dived 3 or 4 times (no idea why there weren't any yellows) and he didn't get fooled once!

Could Clichy have done any more than Gibbs did?

I thought Gibbs put in a performance beyond his years.

He was good, but Clichy drives the team forwards a couple of times per game and I think that's been notably missed recently, he'll make a great interception then start an attack, Gibbs can probably do this too but obviously he's a bit nervous at the minute so isn't driving forwards as much. Gallas has been missed massively too, such an annoyance about the injuries, some huge players missing last night.

He was badddd :p

Got circles ran round him in the first half, second half was much improved.

Got forward a few times.

 Are you sure you watched the game, I certainly don't think Gibbs looked out of place, and most people have said the same considering who he faced and the fact he's only been playing at LB for a season or so. Heck he played in CM for England a few weeks back.

I think me and you should maybe start ignoring each others posts ;)

he's what 19? Playing in a champions league semi final and had Rolando and Rooney to deal with? The whole of the arsenal defense looked pretty shaky in the first half.

?! That's what you saw !?

I thought Gibbs was good and don't really remember him getting beaten unless it was 1 vs 2, considering his age, experience and the occasion I'd go as far as to say he was Arsenal's best outfield player.

Yeh mate i dont understand what games your watching, Gibbs was the best player on the pitch imo.

Anyone hear Souness last night saying Wenger will be the happier out of the 2 managers? That made me laugh!

Also can anyone else explain to me why Tevez got booked? It looked like a 50-50 ball that he had every right to go for and even pulled out as best he could.

Mistake by ref, he tried to get out of the way, maybe he shouldn't have slid in in the ref's eyes, to be fair it was Almunia's ball all day long, but I wouldn't have booked him

As i goalkeeper i think he deserved the booking, regardless of 50/50 his studs were practically in Almunia's face who was always the favorite to win the ball.

Challenges like that could leave goalkeepers scared for life. You'd call a keeper a woman for not going for it but imagine having a dirty scar half the way down your face just because you've been brave. Not really worth it.

Imo tevez deserved the booking, he was never going to win the ball and he put Almunia in potentially very dangerous position.

I can understand people are going to disagree with me but try putting yourself in Almunia's position, going for the ball, gets the ball and practically gets studs in his face.

I'm not sure if he pulled out the best he could, but I don't blame him for not doing so. They were both going for the ball. Maybe it's one of those that made bad contact in the end so the ref thought about booking him. If he gets booked at Ashburton will he miss the final?

:D

I love you Gistov really :p I just like taking the opposite view point ;)

As I said, he looked shakey and very average in the first half.
I also said he was much imporved in the second half and got forward a lot more ;)

I don't think he was the worst player on the pitch.

Didn't understand what that was for personally, he pulled out of the way and they weren't hurt.
A ball like that is 50/50 Tevez had every right to go for it.

I thought Gibbs was quite good. Walcott and Nasri were useless however, Nasri in particular I barely saw. Felt sorry for Adebayor, every time he won a header it just went straight to a United player because there was no team mate anywhere near him.

Yeah, the two players who didn't turn up.
Adebayor was bad, but a lack of service made him bad.

I still thought Franny Fabby, looked very good, he very rarely dissapoints me.

Nasri played pretty well, he was playing DM though instead of on the wings where he's used to playing. He broke up play alright and got stuck in, personally I thought he looked good. Fabregas had a really ordinary game though :( he needs to get involved in the 2nd leg, he's too good to waste
