UEFA Euro 2012 - Group B - ** spoilers ** (Denmark, Germany, Holland, Portugal)

It's pretty likely that the Dutch are going out now then, good. Van Persie can come home, sign a new contract and everyone's happy. :p

As long as he doesn't get injured in the next game...

Germany still need to win to ensure they get through, so Denmark will get beat. Portugal will probably avoid losing as well so that'll be them through in 2nd place.

LOL @ Danish fans "MESSI, MESSI" after Ronaldo spooned a cross out for a goalkick :)

Quelle surprise, Holland sent out their best front 6 for the secondhalf and outscored the Germans.

Dunno WTF people are going on about Robben throwing a tantrum when subbed, IMO he was being completely UNSELFISH, because he left the pitch via the quickest route, rather than having to run all the way across the pitch which would have wasted at least 10s when the Dutch were chasing the game. So he had to walk much further back to the bench, than had he trudged off from the far side of the pitch, and maximised the dutch chances of success.

edit: I swear the Germans just bring on Bender in injury time for comedic effect.

most of it was the commentators "oh he's having a strop", then they changed there mind to the "oh he did it to get off the pitch quicker", then had a go when he removed his shirt as he walked past the dutch fans, and finally mentioned he was "sitting outside the dugout not in it".

players like robben are always likely to get stroppy when subbed cos they have the inbuilt belief that they can do something positive to get a point or win the game.

Can someone explain to me why can't bentnar produces his international display to club level?

Who knows, hes an enigma thats for sure:p

First year at Arsenal 7 starts, 5 goals 3 assists in the league, champs league 4 starts, 3 goals, 1 assist. FA cup, 2 starts, 1 goal.

Second year 17 starts, 9 goals, 2 assists, UCL 4 starts 1 goal, FA cup 3 starts, 2 goals, 1 assist, Carling cup, 2 starts, 2 goals 1 assist.

Third year, 13 starts, 6 goals, 5 assists, UCL 5 starts, 5 goals 1 assist, CC 1 start 1 goal.

4th year, 3 starts 2 goals, 1 assist, UCL 2 starts, nadda, CC 4 starts, 3 goals, FA cup 5 starts 3 goals, 4 assists.

Last year at a **** sunderland team, 25 starts, 8 goals, 5 assists.

Can someone point out the **** season he's had... His lack of goals comes from nothing less than lack of games. He spent probably 10 games total at Arsenal playing his prefered position of withdrawn striker. Yet he's got goals, crucial goals, frequently winning goals, and winning assists, and scored and set up goals against Barca.

Here's a hint, he's not a lone striker just because he's big, he's not a winger, yet played as both he's still provided goals and assists. he's a lump, he looks clumsy, he's strong and surprisingly fast. He's rarely played consistent games together and yet still has one of the best scoring records at Arsenal, he has always scored more and played better when given a run of games.

He's not the worlds best player, he is a very good player, he's a very effective player, and he works damn hard which is a lot more than can be said for other Arsenal players.

His best season was the 5 goals 5 UCL games year, RVP was injured and he got to play half from Feb till end of April basically first team the one and only proper run at Arsenal. He scored a hattrick against Porto, an assist and a goal against Barca. 9 goals, 5 assists in 15 games which he played in a row(while only being a sub in 2 of them). After which he was all but entirely dropped for the next season with only 3 starts.

Made me laugh when the commentators were wondering at van Persie shinning a shot.

I bet they were a part of the fact that Rooney's shinner won goal of the Premiership era or whatever it was.

Germany only need a point to win the group (which will give them 7 points in total, and no other team in the group can get more than 6 points)

Doing some quick math based on head to head rules. It looks complicated if Germany beat Danes 1-0 and Netherlands beat Portugal 2-0. I think. Although I just thought about that quickly looking at the table.

Yeah as I said the other day, second half against Germany they fielded the Super Six and outscored the Germans (albeit Germany didn't need more goals at that point):

..............Van Persie.....Huntelaar
Van der Vaart......Sneijder........Robben
........................De Jong

I'd like to see them lineup like that, not many lesser teams could live with it, although one worry would be it could leave the young LB a bit exposed.
