UEFA Euro 2012 - Group B - ** spoilers ** (Denmark, Germany, Holland, Portugal)

Bendtner isn't massively overrated IMO, since he isn't particularly popular. His ability:rating ratio is far better than say, Luca Modric. He's an average striker who offers decent link play but isn't good enough in front of goal.... good enough to make a good living as a professional, not good enough to be appearing regularly for Arsenal.

I swear Robben must have shagged the wives of all the commentators when he played in England, 3rd game in a row they couldn't resist having a dig at him.

In the first 5mins they roll out some wisecrack about Robben complaining about egos in the squad (and couldn't resist randomly mentioning it later in the match, too). Then second half, a guy stamps on his foot and a sarcastic "Robben made sure he got a freekick there" implying there was something untoward about the way he'd gone down.

RvP was alright, actually scored a goal, first touch and movement was good (apart from when he was put on the right wing oddly), few poor finishes though. The Dutch had a horrible tournament though, the full backs were so poor and don't belong at this level. CB's weren't loads better, being dragged about all over because the CDM's were never close to their men. Basically the whole team was wrong. The worst players were De Jong, van Bommel, the full backs, Robben and Huntelaar, at least RvP and Sneijder were making chances for themselves even if the finishing wasn't there. The rest made nothing and didn't contribute anything in defence either. Mystifying

Probably the fact he was a complete ******* the time he played in england.

He is also the worlds biggest bottler.

I don't think there's a massive conspiracy against Robben like you say, it's simply the fact he's a complete **** and one of the worst divers and cheaters in world football. He's also one of the most selfish players and massively overrated. He must be pretty easy to defend against, he just tries to cut inside on his left foot all the time. If you keep him on his right foot, he's utterly useless.

I thought Portugal looked really decent tonight. Ronaldo finally played like everyone has been expecting him to from the start, and if he keeps that up I think Portugal could go quite far in this tournament. Him and Nani looked excellent on either wing.

The Dutch remind me of the old addage "too many cooks spoil the broth"

They look better on paper than they ever do in reality , tournement after tournement.

Saying that I thought they were a little unlucky with a few shots - but their defence was pretty shocking for all three games.

I dont think Portugal are all that, yes IF Ronaldo turns up (which he definitely DID do last night) then they always have a chance - but otherwise they are pretty average - Nani looked as inconsistant as normal and the rest ......

What? Nani had a great game, aided by their **** left back as mentioned above, and always looked a threat. If even the resident Scousers can see it then why can't the United fans?!

Very surprising, I think pretty much most experienced people in the game had Holland as one of their top four.

Just shows you can't throw good players into a team and expect them to work together. Lampard and Gerrard is a fine example of that.

I'm still amazed Netherlands have managed to go out, I really thought Portugal would be the ones to miss out in that group, they're massively lacking in several areas where as Netherlands don't really look weak anywhere, I guess it just really didn't click for them.

Full backs?! The worst one in the tournament on one side and VdW was hardly better

Also thought Nani was Portugal's best player last night, Ronaldo did score twice but must have had over 10 shots (literally) and wasted countless good positions and possession. Throw enough **** and some will stick

I don't know much about their left back really (I'd never heard of him before this tournament) but I thought Van Der Wiel was pretty good. It's certainly not as much of a weakness as say Portugal who have literally no strikers who are even of EPL quality imo (although that Benfica youngster didn't look too bad, just inexperienced) Defensively they have question marks all the way across their back four as well.

Portugal will get torn aprat against Spain if they meet. They are good going forward but you can see holes in their defence for sure. I really thought Germany would destroy them but that didn't happen.

Maybe they will be the bogey team of this tournament. I was sure Russia would get to atleast the QF and would be the bogey team but I guess not.

Personally thought he should have passed a couple of times instead of shooting to players in better placed positions

Plus at least one shot he did make should at least have been on target yet missed by a few yards

On form, Nani wipes the floor with Bale.

Unfortunately he blows hot and cold more often than I would like, but then so does Bale... ;)

given Nani is 3 or 4 years older, and more experienced - so he should. doesnt mean Bale wouldnt be a better long term prospect (not that Utd could probably afford him anyway lol)

Willem looked a bit of a disaster to me - although admittedly I think he is pretty young too.

Oliviera, I think thats the portuguese youngster you are meaning? He looked promising, scored a nice goal in the second game I seem to recall
