UEFA Euro 2016 Group B ** spoilers** (England, Slovakia, Russia, Wales)

Wilshere gives the ball away and instead of tracking back, decides he'd fall over.

This England midfield is a liability.

Yeah, except the part where he was tracking back getting in position then when the ball came into his area he went and took it off two players then started a break which led to a yellow card for them and a freekick for us.... well done.

You wouldn't be saying that if giving the ball away in such a dangerous position led to a Slovakia goal.

He also didn't stay back out of principle. He realised the mistake and fell over in embarrassment (or some hope to get a foul).

And? That isn't what happened, you had a pop at him for losing the ball and doing nothing... when in fact he got up got into defensive position then won the ball back, created a counter and a chance to attack from. That he didn't give up on the ball as you said is the main point and that he won the ball back was important, he may not have won it back and they may have scored but that won't change that he got back and defended.

He only got the ball back after it was cleared from the England penalty area?

He didn't make up for the original mistake.

It didn't go into the penalty area it went wide, and that isn't how football works, if you lose the ball and are court behind a counter you won't always catch up, it's a team game. He however didn't just stand still and watch he went and did his job and did it well.

I don't know if you know this, but every player on the pitch loses the ball, otherwise one side would never have the ball.
