He's repeatedly dismissed the contribution of his teammates and always goes to great lengths to ensure the spotlight is solely on him. Standing on tip toes in team photos to ensure he's the tallest... :o

It's good for him when he's scoring and his team are winning but when he has a stinker, like he did last night, that attitude comes back to haunt him and he doesn't like the negativity it brings.
 
Well who wouldn't be devestated after missing 10 chances including a penalty?

Being a United fan is probably one of the reasons for me not hating him :p Even though he's not likely to come back, you have to admire his attitude/arrogance for becoming the best and he gave us some great moments.

He's not even capable of that half the time.

Ronaldo get's a lot of hate because he whinges at his team mates when he's having a shocker, and storms off the pitch like a petulant child because a team set out to defend. Real professionalism right there.

I actually find his arrogance quite funny, can't say I hate the guy but I do find it delicious when he has a slight fall from grace.

You can admire the arrogance when it's an individual competing against another individual but when you play in a team you need a bit of humility and Ronaldo seems to lack that.

He should and could let his ridiculous stats, medals and trophies do the talking and no one would think any less of him but his desire to always be in the limelight, whether by what he does or what his teammates don't do, makes him extremely unlikable imo.

I don't know if he's self obsessed or just insecure but it's easy to see why so many people want him to fail.
