Seems bizarre that 36 games are being played in the first round to eliminate six teams (last in each group, plus the two third-place teams with the worst record), leaving sixteen teams to enter the knockout phase.
Wouldn't it have been better to have 32 teams go to the finals, in eight groups of four and have the top two teams from each group qualify for the knockout phase?

Then there would be completely no point in qualifiers, is there even 32 team in Europe

Why is it that virtually no one in this tournament seems able to deliver a decent corner? So many failing to clear the first man it's ridiculous. Surely it doesn't get much easier as a professional footballer than to kick a ball so it's about head height 30 yards away?
