UEFA EURO 2016 Qualifiers and International Friendlies ** spoilers ** [14th - 18th November 2014]

Don't count on it, less professional teams tend to lack in fitness so the final 20-30 mins are often a slaughter against the likes of San Marino. You're also going to have a few subs come in looking to prove their worth to the team, not a great combination for Gibraltar.

Spot on DM. Its 3-0 now.

A very valid point and I should have known better. Thanks for pointing out the obvious (or not so to me). They're playing pretty much in their own half though so not exactly tiring themselves out attacking :)

You know, I'm not still not convinced this is going to be a massive score.. I'm that convinced I may stick a k down on under 8 goals.

Wow, gl if you do. Like DM said, they'll get tired towards the end.

4-0, they were 5 up on Brazil after 28 mins so that's not bad :p

Bendtner equalised for Denmark and then, can't quite tell who number 3 is put them ahead less than 2 minutes later.

Faroe Islands go 1-0 up against Greece :o

As I type Muller scores a third? oh, no, own goal, Podolski cross.

Pretty much, yes, I looked up Faroe Islands results after seeing they were 1-0 up to Greece, still are afaik. The one team they've beaten in ages was Gibraltar and they beat them 4-1.

To be fair though Faroe Islands/San Marino have been dire for a long time. Gibraltar are just becoming a team, they could improve a bit, nerves and the likes in the first games would make results worse. They've been much more solid.

EDIT:- Germany have been pretty terrible since the world cup final, 1 win, draw, loss a piece before this game. Considering the group they are in and the quality they have they've been woeful. Should be walking this group.

Solid game by Gibraltar. I expect to see improvements in 5years +, not winning games but better setup on field and much better fitness levels. Highlight of the game was the Liam Walker effort at the end of the 1st. Proud of the Lads.

Bendtner scored 2 for Wolfsburg last week, 2 for Denmark tonight. Thankfully instead of actually using Bendtner so he was just a good striker, Wenger decided to ignore him, so we had Sanogo come on at the weekend, after starting Welbeck who is awful and we paid 16mil for, in a summer we finally lost any chance to bring Vela back who was treated the same way as bendtner.

That is Vela who was on the 3 player short list for player of the season in La Liga for last season.

Vela and Bendtner, significantly better strikers than the players we have.... the only thing we needed was to play them. Instead we ignored them and bought Gervinho, and Chamakh, then pushed both players out, bought Giroud and now in buying Welbeck one of those two is likely to be shoved out. All when we had two better strikers who Wenger simply refused to use.

Oh, that is Vela who scored two yesterday against Holland. :(

You really do like Vela don't you....

In Spain, a league with Iniesta, Neymar, Messi, Vela was on the 3 player shortlist for player of the year. He's averaged pretty much 15 goals and 10 assists a year over three seasons in a pretty weak team. A team that he has been frequently the star performer when they've beaten Barca, Real and Atletico. IIRC Sociedad were the only team to win away at Atletico I think the season before last.

He's one of the best 5-10 attackers in the league. It would have cost us nothing at all to keep him and he'd be one of the top 5 attackers in the EPL. Yes, I like him as a player, he's excellent. More than how good he is, is how Wenger let yet another top player go, not just because of financial or personal differences, but because he preferred and favoured worse players... as always.

He's currently doing exactly the same again to Podolski, he shoved Arshavin out after freezing him out. He got 10 goals and 18 assists one season was excellent and over summer got frozen out. Podolski last season got 15 goals in 21 starts for Arsenal, 2 assists. For the league alone it was 8 goals in 14 starts. Excellent player, being frozen out for the likes of Welbeck, Chamberlain and Cazorla or Ozil playing wide when they've all been useless this season.

It's not about how good those players were(Pod, Vela, Bendtner, Arshavin, Reyes, Pires, Gilberto) it's that we had great players who didn't want to leave but Wenger shoved out of the club for no reason. He's still having his random "I've decided to hate a player and freeze him out" moments and each time it's hurt the team.
