Not great options, and that's probably down to UEFA rules. It was clear that some of the players just weren't in the right frame of mind (would you usually see Schmeichel make that sort of error?)

If the game were non-league or lower the game would have been called off & abandoned. Surely they can come up with an agreement whereby teams can agree to end the game at 0-0 if that is still the score? I can't imagine UEFA's sponsors kicking up a fuss if there was a life changing incident to a player at a game...

I imagine that's the end of his playing career then? Sad but of course it could be worse.


Edit Daley Blind plays with one...They do recommend against it so who knows.

There's quite a bit of more recent evidence that it's safe for athletes to compete with an ICD fitted and multiple athletes do.

Interesting article but it isnt recommended. I guess it all depends on what's actually caused the arrest.

A lot of play acting, like the way the keeper threw himself to the floor then when he was nudged. Ridiculous. When you see stuff like that you can see why some people have the impression of football that they do
