I would be extremely disappointed to be knocked out by Denmark but equally wouldn’t be surprised as Denmark are no mugs, we should have enough to beat them as without Erickson there’s only really Kasper who I think is an upgrade on who we have.
I’m fully expecting several Oscar nominated performances tonight as it’ll be who can incorporate the most rolls while screaming like a little ***** to try and con the ref, I think Italy are favourites but also if Spain turn up they could win so for me I can’t really pick a winner with any certainty.
It also depends on whether Morata turns up firing or does his slapstick striker impersonation routine - it seems to me to be 50:50 which one he brings to any given match.

I reckon the combined worst divers of the Spanish and Itie teams look longingly at Grealish and Sterling...

I would certainly agree if this was in the Premier League but both have been surprisingly quiet in that regard during this tournament, I regularly call them out in the weekend game threads (as well as Kane, Vardy and Maddison) and get accused of irrational hatred of said player and was even put on ignore by one member for calling Grealish out, which goes to show how defensive of their clubs players fans can be.

no examples of sterling diving this tournament you dont think?

It called 'great at winning free kicks' when they play for ingerlund

I'm going Italy v Eng final with two provisos:
1. Italy will defo miss Spinazzola
2. The Danish 'back four' Kasp, Kjaer, Christensen, Vestergaard are miles better than Ukraine, so will be 2-0 not 4-0 :D

You do realise that there is quite a big difference between getting fouled and getting back up and being fouled and rolling around in agony for 30s like you will never walk again. If you want to see a good example of why players go down, watch Mane stay on his feet for Liverpool time and time again and see how many fouls he gets as a result. He goes down, he gets a penalty. He stays on his feet, off balance and stumbling forwards and the chance is gone and he gets nothing.

There is a reason the Italians and Spanish are largely hated for their diving, its because they feign career ending injury at the slightest contact to try and get the other player sent off. 80% of the time they are indeed fouled and the free kick is warranted. 90% of the time they overreact to get the other player booked.

If you watch any amount of premier league football you will know that Sterling and Grealish don't act like the Italian and Spanish players when fouled. I mean, I assume you know that because you wouldn't have a strong opinion on this subject unless you watched these players week in week out. That would be silly.

Wait, no, you are right, after watching the above video it is quite clear that Grealish dives all the time and play acts to get the opposition cards.

Where are you from because you seem to have an irrational hatred of England and want us to lose.

Not by me it isn't, I call it what it is and it's diving, he hasn't done it anywhere near as much as you're making out and it's becoming clear you're here to 'stir the pot', are you Scottish or Welsh by any chance and the way you've spelt ingerlund also makes me think you're about 8 or 9 as well?

wow back fellas! I was under the misnomer that grealish and sterling had a terrible reputation for diving (since disproved re fez above) and i just went for Denmark to win based on how they've played so far.

All opinions of course - different strokes for different blokes and all that.

Fair enough, it just came across rather bitter but hey ho.

I think most of us here would be supporting Denmark if it wasn't vs England. They are a good little side without any egos and they have played good football this tournament.

With regards to Grealish and Sterling, both of them will go down easy at times (which I'm not a fan of) but I have played enough sports to know that when you are moving at speed, any contact when you are off balance can send you flying or cause you to lose the ball. Thats why diving is so hard to call unless there is 0 contact.

Playacting is just so frustrating though and it clearly does work with referees. On the continent it is seen in a more favourable light and as "part of the game" unfortunately. A lot of them don't even see it as a negative, just another part of the entertainment and a way to get an advantage.
