You're right in that I also read that the BBC said they were doing HDR but not 4K but everything I've watched looks as sharp as 4K - definitely much sharper than the standard TV.

I found the BBC HDR awful the other day when I tried it. Very dull and lifeless

Seemed odd when other HDR stuff has been fine on my TV.
