UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE FINAL ... Ajax v Manchester United ... **Spoilers** [24th May 2017]

hope utd get tonked

not because I hate united but because mourinho this season and especially last month or so has turned into a complete ******

in the 80's Liverpool were heavily punished for resting a load of players before European games

mourinho is doing it at his leisure, the fa and premier league should be taking a strong stance and action against him

as for saying the palace game should be changed because united play Wednesday is a farce!!

Haha! Not because you hate united? OF COURSE IT IS! Mourihnos always been a ****...it's just now he's our ****! It isn't anything new so that's total BS :D

was going to make same point :p

re resting players fortunately they have not to play and games that really have serious implications for others otherwise I think there would have been more of a stink about it

you dont come across as hating Utd at all of course........

trying to compare the league in the 80's with now is like trying to compare chinese to pizza just because its food

Its a COMPLETELY different game, level of competitveness etc etc etc, not to mention Liverpool were dominating (in the late 80s anyway) , compared to Utd who are struggling now with or without the injuries that are effecting the team in the last month or two.

IF Utd were going for the title (or even top 4), and therefore the FA wanted everyone to play at the same time then fair enough - is the Utd vs Palace game going to make any difference what so ever to anything (not sure if CP can climb /fall, but its so inconsequential even if they can its totally redundant). No one will care either way

Of course no other european country 's fa have ever re-arranged league games to benefit their team in a final etc , but its farcical if the British one does - give me a break!!!

edit - ok CP can potentially change by a few places either way depending on multiple other results, but whether they finish 12 or 17th makes (little to ) no difference compared to actually getting into next seasons PL.

Why should fans be expected to pay the same money to watch a united team full of fringe players than seeing a full strength squad?

Takes the mick out supporters

Also fanschoose games based on whether they are available to attend so why should mourinho get it changed last minute t suit him and his team

Mourinho is a whinging me me me man

I guarantee if utd lose he will blame it on premier league fixtures

real supporters would understand the predicament, with barely a full 1st XI one or two minor injuries would totally ***** any chance of winning the final

Im sure most supporters from any club would choose to win a final vs a game that doesnt mean anything at all

its unlikely the application was last minute, Utd probably applied to have it changed weeks ago in the hope they made the final

but again, even if it was last minute Utd fans would want JM to do exactly that to benefit the final (an extra days rest is always beneficial with only 2 or 3 days between games

And what about the palace fans

Its not all about utd

I'm pretty sure the Palace fans won't care, especially if their team wins. I suppose they might be a bit embarrassed if they lose to the United youth team though.

I'm not on about utd putting fringe squad out I mean them having there game moved to a different day because of utd

It's strange I actually dreamt about the game last night:(

Basically we got a free kick just outside our own box, someone tried to pass it back to Romero but he ends up taking out their striker and gets sent off. We go 2-0 down. The 2-1 eventually losing the game 6-2

You are still presuming they would have announced it after the tickets went on sale - which is highly unlikely

Even if that were to happen, which isnt likely, you are also presuming that those that chose to go up for a sunday match couldnt make saturday at all

Very hyperthetical indeed (apart from being completely redundant and irrelevant now)

Didn't Palace only become 100% safe last weekend? If so then tickets would have gone on sale well before then. You can't sell over 70,000 tickets and then change the date with a weeks notice.

lol, your dreams are as nuts as you are :p

Its also pretty likely that Utd would have asked for the match to be changed well before last weekend - whether it was only announced last weekend that it couldn't be changed is immaterial.

Still don't think it would have been that big a deal to change it even if it had been announced in April but hey ho

I've no idea what you're saying in the first sentence. Utd could have asked at the start of the season, the answer would have still been no. There's a reason why the last set of fixtures kick-off at the same time - it's so no side has any advantage or disadvantage from knowing the outcome of other games.

Until it was 100% certain that the game would have nothing riding on it*, there was zero chance that the League would agree to moving the game. The absolute earliest Utd could have requested the game to be moved, with any hope of the League agreeing, would have been after the Palace - Hull game, a week before. As I said in my first post, the tickets would have been sold weeks before then and you cannot sell all those tickets and then change the date a week before.

*Iinm, going into the final week Palace could have finished anywhere from 12th to 17th. That game still had £m's riding on it for Palace and the 5 other sides around them.

I predict that it's going to be another Mourinho bus parking exercise with someone like Rashford expected to nick a goal on the counter or something from a set piece.

I think it'll be a nightmare from start to finish, hopefully with a good result at the end. :p

Not particularly confident, though I know if we play as we can, we should win.
