Hes played in a number of pre-season games and has looked a liability at times and has never impressed me. I'm quite happy to give him a chance but from what I have seen I am not impressed.

As good as RM have been tonight, our defending has been worse than shocking. Genuinely dire. Not a single defender is picking up runners. There will be 4 defenders around 2 RM players and they will still completely ignore the one running.
 
He did but he was also lucky not to give a foul away, he seemed to pull at the Madrid defender before winning the ball back.
 
To me it did look like Fellaini fouled the defender (the pulling of the shirt)

I've not been paying full attention, the only replay I've seen he looked a bit offside, was he?

I know the first Madrid goal possibly was as well, just curious.

It's pre season, it means nothing. We're playing 22 players every game. You need to have a number of games in a regular defence before you can be judged. You've been spoiled by Bailly. 90% of defenders won't settle that quickly.
 
Asensio is going to be an absolute monster of a player in the future if he keeps getting better.
