Surprised at how many people picked Messi over Ronaldo. Jealousy is a terrible thing, so it's easier to pick from a foreign country.

More so, how often did you watch him last season? He was good at times and at other times terrible. Also, last season he was on the bench as a starter for over half the season and was also injured.
Oh well, it's something you come to expect from the English.

Of course it's opinions, but a lot of peoples are ill-informed. It's just daft saying someone who spent half the season as a super-sub and a part of it injured is worthy of a place over Ronaldo who carried a team to a CL semi, a Championship and a Domestic Cup final, and not only that, but also the best player in the European Cup this season (top goal scorer and highest points earner in FF too).

Just seems daft for people to asy it, so as I said before, it's down to jealousy or ignorance.

I couldn't pick between Ronaldo & Messi, seeing as they both had such a great year.

I don't understand how no one here has selected Totti. He won the European golden boot last year, so that's got to be worth something. The impression I get is that his exposure in the UK is not so great - banned during Euro 2004 (deservedly) and sent off during WC 2002 (wrongly IMO) as well as just returning from a 3 month injury lay off in WC 2006 haven't really helped him showcase his talent on the world stage. Didn't do much when Roma got spanked by Man Utd in the CL last season either, leaving people who don't watch much of Roma or Serie A to judge him solely on the occasional performance. That's my view anyway.
