The record is pointless tbh. It is pure stat pad. You need to look at how many goals were scored in big games. Wayne Rooney was the same.

Gary Lineker and Shearer produced it where it mattered imo.

Yeah 100% hat trick against Albania, but goes missing in key tournament games. What would be the point!
 
I would say at this point he won the golden boot in the World Cup and scored in the last 16, the quarter final and semi final in the Euros.
 
There is never going to be a consensus on these things. Most players at the international level aren't banging them in for fun against top opposition and most of their goals will come against pub teams. Thats just the nature of football. Kane is a world class striker and I'm sure he will be Englands top scorer soon.

Its like the Messi vs Ronaldo debate. Its completely subjective (its Messi btw) because it depends on what you think makes the best footballer.

Gary Lineker scored six as well but came against Poland (3rd place in 1982), Paraguay and Argentina. A bit better opposition than Panama and Tunisia.

Media always like a frenzy but when you take the amount of international goals and look into the reality it becomes clear.
 
Why do we always play San Marino in qualifiers? Is it the way the groupings are done or something why we always end up having to waste our time playing one of the worst world teams?
 
A few players have had to miss the SM trip, so Conor Gallagher has been brought in.

Grealish and Henderson returned to their clubs for injury assessments, Sterling has a personal matter, Mount has still got dodgy teeth and Shaw suffered a concussion
 
Serbia won away in Portugal and qualify, Portugal into the play-offs along with (so far) Sweden, Scotland, Macedonia, Russia and Poland.
