Ugh probably caught speeding

Perhaps you shouldn't speed?

Still, love my TomTom One for this, the speed camera detection hasn't let me down yet :)
So you pretty much admit you speed, yet you give a holier than thou "Perhaps you shouldnt't speed" comment, and then say something competely irrelevant to getting caught by a mobile camera?

Nice input.

I believe that most shoplifters only steal when they feel it's safe . . .

Totally out of context

Stealing is Stealing, end of. You cant debate that. you either had permission or you didnt

With speeding, the safe at which you would consider suitable is debatable, hence why speed limits sometimes change. Its possible that a speed thats not safe during the day, might be safe at night when the roads are quieter.

I can't have been paying attention when they passed the law saying that adherence to speed limits was discretionary.

thats not the issue.

People do not steal because its black and white. You either have permission to take it or you dont

Speeding isnt black and white because it is debatable what is a safe speed.

Looks like I was rather grumpy when I replied the other night but I think this sums up my thinking:

Saying that though, I'm not trying to suggest that all forms of +70mph driving is dangerous; plenty of people are dangerous drivers regardless of speed.

I honestly find speedcameras especially those is sneaky places more of a danger than that, they cause everyone to immediately when they see them take their eyes off the road ahead and look at the speedo and usually brake too whether they need to or not.

I can't see how this idea of shocking people by having camera's in sneaky non obvious places does anything to help roadsafety when you look at how many accidents it almost causes. I know if I hit the brakes remotely hard coming up to a camera considering the 4pot AP Racing brakes on my car someone would be straight into the back of me.

Now I know its very easy to 'creep' over the speed limit which is were I think those speed warning signs that flash when your speeding and show your current speed are actually a much better idea.

On the topic of average speed camera's sometime they can really be a pain and anyone who's driven from stranraer will know what I'm talking about. People are so scared to pass anyone/anything incase their average speed might be higher they will sit back creating huge queues. Unfortunately that road was prone to having accidents so something had to be done/tried.

I think you might be wrong there actually, I've known a few people in my time who have admitted to shop lifting and for them it was about the buzz - the risk of getting caught.

If it was safe they would never do it.

The only ones who do it when they think it is safe are the professionals who steal for a living which I am lead to believe by relatives in retail, is - surprisingly enough - the minority.
