***UK Exclusive! @ OcUK -First Corsair Dominator GT Review****

Your probably right , but I have always been partial to nice shiny ram and I couldn’t resist these, but I am going to see what these give me compared to similar systems and I will keep you posted as well

Where from - according to Corsair, these aren't out yet?:D

I was after the 7-8-7-20@2000 kit a couple of weeks ago but I missed out as they were sold out in 3 Mins flat , at the same time they released the kit I got which are 8-8-8-24@2000 which has also sold out but was available for a couple of days , they are struggling to produce these top end kits in any quantity.

Ah, so you went direct :D

This kit is the 1866 but its running at 2000MHz @ 8-7-8-20 1.65V :D:cool:

Yes i went direct , i guess mine are the 1866 kit but with a different program to give 8-8-8-24@2000, nice ram though , i am on 32bit xp :o
waiting for a second raptor to arrive to build raid 0 on vista 64, should be up for the weekend, then i can get some bandwidth results.

how much these gunna be?

the 6gb dominator 1600mhz are £150 now which is a nice price hopefully these wont be over £200 otherwise they'll be a bit too pricy.

ddr3 prices are falling nicely across the board, shame not x58 or core i7 price cuts, wont be upgrading until those fall a lot.

Well over £200 mate ;)

Have you seen "This week only" yet?

AndyOcUK/andyr .....did you need to raise the QPI/DRAM (VTT) to get the ram to be stable at 2000mhz ??
If so, what are your settings.....i'm seriously looking at the Dominator GT kit now that it is in stock.
Also, did you manage to get any real world testing done, againt running it at 1333mhz in games etc ?

Yeah they have come down in price ,at least the kit i got has,if you set the mem profile to profile 1 on my mobo it sets the QPI/VTT to 1.6v which sounds high but i guess they know what they are rated at when they produce these profiles, i run them at 1.5 ish and havent had stability issues at 2000Mhz, i havent done any benchies at 1333 to compare with but it feels faster with everything turned up i suppose every bit helps as usual, if its worth the extra dosh that depends if you want to spend it on ram,i have always bought the best i can afford at the time , saves spending and buying again on the same platform i always think.

Mmmm....i was under the impression that Intel specifies 1.35v max. for VTT, otherwise damage to the cpu MAY occur. Is this true ?
I want to run 20 x 200 (which the cpu is doing with HT/Turbo enabled) and the ram at 2000mhz.

I think 1.6 is normal for these , i heard and read that the better stuff like GT's run at higher QPI/VTT hence when you slect profile 1 in advance memory settings it bumps it up to that ! and 1.65 for the ram voltage, i was concerned at first but they seem to like it :)
