Me and the GF have both got from Wednesday evening (9th) till Saturday (12th) off and are looking to do a little trip away.

Googling isn't really giving me anything positive, were both Liverpool based.

Any suggestions? Budget of around £500.

London, especially when weather isn't so nice. Love the place for short brakes. Great public transport and so much to do and see.

Yup, could book a nice place in London and spend a few days shopping and site seeing and then could see if you could take in a show and a fancy meal?

I was in London a few weeks back and it's just far to expensive, I don't think £500 would cover the costs.

London isn't very expensive 500 is plenty. As long as you don't mind a cheap hotel only good for sleeping. The rest is no more expensive than any other large city.

Bristol? Apparently loads of things to do, smaller and cheaper than london and not as good. But you get what you pay for :p

failing that, train to the south coast and stay in a few B+Bs while visiting a few towns across the coast (travel by bus when down there)

The south would be fairly cheap, plenty to do in Brighton.

Have you considered Scotland or even Ireland? I've never been myself, but everyone I know who has had noting but good things to say.

Oi! :P

Bristol has a great music scene(everything from metal->ska->pop->DnB), a nice free museum, good shopping and is cheap. Few natural beauty spots (eg clifton suspension bridge), and lots of history to explore too.

Or hit Falmouth for a quieter holiday, it's very pretty and there are cool boat tours, but they're better when it's warm!
