UKFSN users in plz

Funny day for me today, when i get logged onto Tele 1, or Tele 2 i can only get about 2-3 odd mb today, but when i disconnect and get myself on Global Switch 1 i get my full 6mb, tis being odd today.

i logged a call with UKFSN and then get told i have to phone ENTA direct? WTF....?

I paid for the service through UKFSN....surely they have to do something for the money.?

I know the service is basically with ENTA, but bit odd that UKFSN don't have much help for people.

just goes to show that you shouldn't always believe what you read.....i should have stuck with my 1mb unlimited line. No drops and a solid connection!

You pay £20 a month (assuming home 30) which includes (technically) support with Enta. Saves Jason having to be a middle man in this situation.

Same again today, deffo summit not right, connected onto Tele 1, ran a couple of speedtests, about 3.5mb again, jumped onto Tele 2 and the same, so kept going round till i could get onto Global Switch 1, and boom my full 6mb's again.

Its not the ALT poblem that ppl are getting either, where they get stuck at the throttled speed until they reboot routers etc... as it makes no difference to me, i can reboot me router, disconnect, re-connect, or jump around the pipes, it will make no difference, if i get stuck on Tele 1/2 i will only get about 3.5mb regardless, i have to keep jumping on and off till i get bunged on Global 1 for me full speeds.

Happening to anyone else per chance ?

Yeah, was seeing the same thing yesterday and the day before.

Yeah its well strange, not sure how long its been happening for as i only noticed yesterday, thought it was the ALT prob at first, but then thought well it can't be as i switch my PC off on a night, and that only affects ppl who are still connected after the ALT has gone off, they have to reboot to get the speed change, this is different to that.

What I meant was you report it to UKFSN and then he has to call Enta and pass on any info from them onto you. You would get a better response calling them direct.

i've reported the fault and he told me to ring them direct.

Just done the bt speedtest you have to do before calling.....

don't look good!

i'm going to call them tomorrow

Ask if BT have pulled their finger out and decided to find a date for central 4 install whilst you're at it please. :)

Has been done today:

"well it was going live today, but the 2 NTEs that were supposedly delivered last week were not where they should have been.

BT are now sending replacements out so with luck it will be next week."

Especially after the reason they last did it, (for those who don't follow what Enta are doing.)

"It seems that no one in BT knows how to raise a method statement to allow them to install the fiber in to their own rack in the Global Switch meetme room."

(I just love how Enta said that on the NOC. Along with TH1 needing a flap. ;) )

I no see that. Perhaps I picked a bad time to swap to OpenDNS so I could see honestBB's site.

Edit: Does http://www.entachoice.org.uk/ take anyone else to 123-reg?

yes i get 123 to, i also get a stupid search page when i try to determine which pipe im on now, some openDNS guide crap, so when i came back on earlier i just had to run speedtests to find out if i got GS1 instead of Tele 1/2. :D

just phoned Enta......24 hour support (how cool is that? :D )

they guy talked me through a few things, did a test, could see the drops on my line etc.

he's going to log the call with BT.

In the mean time he suggested i try another router incase it's mine playing silly beggars.

watch this space.

Im on the phone to enta right this second, ahhhh how awsome it is to have UK Based Tech support lines :p bliss

he can see the line drops (which have become more frequent) and is doing a line test.
