UKFSN users in plz

Getting 670k odd a sec here on Tele 1 now, just jumped onto it from Tele 2, as for some reason Tele 2 is saying the full 7.2mb Green, yet i was getting about 2.5mb on it. :p

Im on tele 1 now; better, but still;

Usually I get 6665 kb/s downloads. So it can't be the line at fault :(

Edit;

Now it says this;

Gateway: birch
Central Pipe: Global Switch 1
Central status: Amber - Almost full (600 to 622Mb)
Status last updated: 2007-04-01 18:58:29

I keep getting thrown off onto that?!

Better now;

Gateway: katsura
Central Pipe: Telehouse 1
Central status: Green - OK (less than 600Mb)
Expected Performance: 7.2 Mbps
Status last updated: 2007-04-01 19:07:29

Acceptable for a busy weekend.

They really need to sort it out and stop taking new people on if their networks can't handle it.

I have been on UKFSN for a year now before it was well known :( Used to always get 860kb/s but not so much no more. Some times when centrals are empty (rare nowadays) I go back to full speed. They really need to get a new central and change the peak times imo. Still the best ISP around though...

It's the best ISP but I can see it going downhill unless it changes.

Why keep taking new people on when it has not got the capacity to do so? I don't understand... I know they rely on BT for new centrals, but until the central is INSTALLED then they should slow recruiting new people.

I think it should be £24.99 per month for

30gb peak / 200gb off peak

and

£34.99 for;

60gb peak / 200gb off peak

Even that is PLENTY enough! I used about 60GB off peak last month and around 9gb peak. And I'd class myself as just the 'average' user.

That would satisfy the majority of users, and the only people who would get annoyed are the mass 24/7 downloaders, who should go elsewhere anyway instead of ruining it for the majority of us.

That doesn't work. The problem with Enta is having a peak and off peak time. As soon as off peak comes online people start their downloads. The only way to try and off set this is to stagger the off peaks. Which they have started doing with office. Result = all downloaders are on the home services. :p

I think sean is right in saying lowering the off peak limit, some people just see it as a target :( As a house, we download roughly 150 - 160 gig a month at present.

Im on the MAX 60 package and i only do about 55gb a month total, with about 30 odd gb of that in peak. :)

Tele 2's working fine for me today, i can download at over 700k, so whatever the prob was before must be sorted. :cool:

th2 working for me now.

Last Result:
Download Speed: 6797 kbps (849.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 309 kbps (38.6 KB/sec transfer rate

got this last night
This message is to inform you that you have used more that 90% of your
Peak ADSL Allowance.

Your Peak Allowance level is 30Gb.

Your peak usage as of midnight just past is 27.04Gb. Usage is updated
each midnight
glad to see UKFSN are letting you know `NOW, when you get near to your limit(pity they did not do this a few months ago when i went over by 1 gig :(

I think one thing is for sure now they moved the office(which i on) to 8pm off peaks there is never any speed problems, it shows the problem is with home users so maybe they should move the off peaks till later 12pm imo.

if they do that i will be off like a shot :mad: so will a lot of others.in the end with fewer users they will put the price up.so the few users remaining(i.e. you)will have to pay a lot more.....are you sure you want that? :)
off peak from midnight to 8 am is not even worth having in my opinion

i would consider an overall cap though ,do away with peak/off peak and a cap of 200 gig p/m.as i can`t get over 2.2 meg ,i could live with that.a lot of people with fast connections would not though i imagine

No. People will be on office products like a shot making 8PM onwards a crawl. There are very few ISP's that give you generous allowances now. Not many places to move apart from the office products.

Remember they are a buisness ISP. The 'low' cap in peak is to protect the buisness accounts so they get high speeds.

What put the home users on 12pm, what an absolute cheek, you lot already get 2 extra hrs of off peak as you start at 8pm now, now you want our off peak cut by 2hrs, your having a ******* laugh!!!.

Give us 50gb of extra peak bandwitdh to compensate. ;)

so how much more is a `office`package cost? and do you lot really use it for `business`purposes?or just downloading PrOn ;)

How about change it around, put us on 8pm and bung those on 12pm instead seen as they would be fine about it, which they obviously would be seen as they want us put to 12pm. :)

ON UKFSN it is extra £10 a month (£20 apposed to just under £30 for office). Aquiss it is £8 more - £25 for home, £33 for office.

It is not a buisness line. It is really called max premium. Doesn't give you any (more) right to use it in a buisness for cheap BB. The T&C basically say you can do (pretty much) what you want with your connection.
