Hi guys, just wondering if anyone is off to santa pod this weekend to go to the ultimate street car show?

Should be a good laugh, always good to see some chavved up motors, as well as the classy ladies!.

I went to the Mopar Euro Nats last weekend - very good! Pics to come...

For the second year in a row, I didn't make it :(

In my defence, I did have a damned good reason not to go see creamy Mopar goodness. But still....two in a row :(

Poor show :(

I made the mistake of going last year, i discovered it should actually be called

Ultimate Chav Fest!

Seriously, avoid it at all costs.

i went to the gti spring festival at pod in april time, that was an amazing day, barely a chav in sight.

as for USC today though, my gf's sis's bf is there, the ultimate chav. if its his sort of thing then its chav lol

I went today and agree with the chav sentiments...was a decent day out I suppose.

Had my car on the strip and was pretty disappointed really, could never launch it right, or change gear properly so got some pretty poor times :( (17.5 - whoops, 16.2 and 16.6)

Was a great event when it started and was run by Fast Car magazine, they stopped running it and it became ultimate street car. It went to **** then :(

Fog

PS still got my copy of Fast Car with my name in running in the Z class in 97 :D

what do yo udrive?

christ. i take it you only did 3 runs? people usually wind up shaving a lot of time off once they have a bit more experiance on with the christmas tree etc

on some of my first runs i got awful starts because i had no idea what the xmas tree was doing lol they were close to 17s.

then after more practice i got my golf down to 16 dead

Yeah I know but I don't think the heat helped, a 182 got 16.1 and a 182 trophy got 15.8 I think!

Yeah only had the 3 runs and was my first time, on the third run it felt a lot better, turned ESP off which helped with the launch but fudged a gearchange into third.

Was still good fun though and might pop along to a normal RWYB soon to try and improve my times.

tbh, 1/4 mile isnt the be all and end all, i just would have expected a pocket rocket like yours to be doing low 15s.

my mk3 16v golf has done 16s dead, i doubt i could make it go any faster ever because i am mechanically sympathetic to it.

a good healthy mk3 golf vr6 can do 15.5-15.4 etc civic Rs were doing about the same, if not less.

but as is always the case, you need a fair bit of practice to get a more accurate time. the more practice i had the less nervous i was at the lights. i think the nerves alone can ruin your run lol :D
