Ultimate Street Car

My first go was poor because I was just edging upto the line, with the other guy already set as soon as i stopped the lights changed and I thought "oh poo" and grannied it off the line :D

Was a bit gutted on the day but I'm not too worried, I know it is virtually neck and neck between me and my mates VR6 golf.

At least I may have put a lot of people off the 197 so itll be rarer and hold its value ;) (always look on the bright side :))

Sorry, i know the term is usually very much hated on this forum, its a Mk1 Clio 16v. Athought people try to associate it with their golfs and corsa's ;)
 
lol i dont hate the term itself, just would help to know exactly what we were talking about seeing as there are golf 'valvers' and clio 'valvers' and millions in between

im impressed with 15.4 from a nearly standard clio tho. good score!
 
we took the altered to get some track time in and do some demo's

with it being a street car event traction was at a premium (road tyres rip the rubber up that us big boys need) so the first two passes resulted in the car going sideways spinning the tyres through 1st and 2nd, straightened up in high gear and ran a couple of 9.9s@130, with a race prepped track theres a second to be taken off that

then we split the front oil seal on the burnout, dropped the sump and found all the bearings trashed so that was it for the weekend

but Ultimate **** Car would be a more appropriate name for it....we got our own enclosed security guarded pits over night so it wasn't too bad
