I've bought a new SanDisk 128gb micro sd card but can't format it to use it, it's for my video doorbell so tried to format it using that and it failed, I've tried using a laptop with windows 10 and another with windows 11and it's failed in both those aswell.

Anything else I can try? It's brand new and genuine and appears to be undamaged.

Sounds like it might be faulty. What exactly happens when you try to format it?

You could try the below tool and if no success, then I would return it but make sure you try a different card reader/writer first in case that is the issue.

Say it was unable to complete the format

Also says the capacity is 30.6MB and not 128GB

Is the SanDisk software the 1 linked above? That say unable to format and 30MB aswell

I bought it from the SanDisk store on amazon
no
SanDisk software should be here
it should be able to tell if it's genuine
and if there's something wrong with it
if it's from SanDisk store then should be genuine

When it tried to format it on your doorbell and it failed it might have created a partition using most of the drive space on the drive and left 30mb remaining. If you do not remove the partion first you will not have access to the storage on the drive as it has been partitioned into a drive already but remains unformatted that is possibly unreadable on your windows systems. This happens often even on Windows performed partitons and format. try to remove the partion first.
