HI there

OcUK not only has the best range of socket 939 processors in stock but check out these prices too:-

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ (Socket 939) - OEM @ £39.99 +VAT (£46.99 Inc. VAT)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+ (Socket 939) - OEM @ £49.99 +VAT (£58.74 Inc. VAT)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+ (Socket 939) - OEM @ £89.99 +VAT (£105.74 Inc. VAT)

You will all know how hard it is too find socket 939 processors and when you do they are normally at crazy high prices due to lack of supply.

Well OcUK has come across 1000pcs of the 3800 and 4200 SKU's and 500pcs of the 4400 SKU.

AMD has told us this is truly the last now, whether it is or not is another thing but these prices are an absolute steal for a dual core processor, especially on socket 939. :)

BUY NOW!!

ohhhh so tempting must resist...

EDIT:

Lian Li PC-7 and 3800 x2 on TWO

Just bought both, WOOP!

I just recieved my 3800+ X2 OEM this morning and just fitted it but I bought eles where for £49.99 delivered hehe.

4200+ X2 looks bargin tho

Not really great prices, seen cheaper. Gibbo you getting any opterons in as thats what im lookin for due to 2mb caches. Opty 170 perhaps.

Hi there

Gotta disagree the prices really are great for a CPU that is so hard to come by. There are some places still selling single core AMD socket 939 CPU's for £100.

If cheaper elsewhere is considerably cheaper and in stock then email me the link and I will undercut the price - [email protected]

Well you asked. So i mailed you about 4400+

Hi there

Ah, thought you meant the 3800 and 4200's.

The 4400's are more expensive because the supply is none existent. Anybody selling them cheaper is giving them away and is a good buy.

I remember when AMD did their big price drop around the Core2 launch that there was a warning here that AMD had stopped all 939 production and that it looked likely that X2's would be sold out before their price drop ... not wanting to take the risk I jumped and bought a single core 3800 (single core prices dropped a month before X2's) only to see X2s continue to be available for months later <sigh>. I'm tempted by these prices now ... though suspect I'd do better by moving to PCIe graphics (currently still with AGP gfx on Asrock dual sata mboard) and get ready for a switch to new mboard/DDR2/CPU later.

Hmmm, I might pop in and grab a 4400. Although since it's only a stop gap until I build a new system, do you think I should go for the cheaper 4200 and suffer the 512Kb L2 Cache? Either way, it'll be a bit of extra oomph over this current A64 3200+.

Your still going to lower the price of the 4400+ tho yeah since you did challange me to beat "any" of the deals offered in the first post of this topic and i did. Not my fault you meant the first 2 processes. So i hope you keep your word.

Wouldnt have thought so. I know if i got one of these, i would refuse to reinstall windows just for to make it work. As my setup has taken me a long time to get just the way i wanted it. Best thing to do is uninstall the old cpu driver and install the new one and then turn off the comp then install the new cpu then start it up again and it should work.

Hi Amonlym,

I've just ordered a x2 4400 to replace my 4000. I'm running on Win XP SP2.
Which drivers will I need to install ?

Cheers.
