My stupid incapable sister was trying to clean the toilet and the brush "fell" off and she decided to flush the toilet. The brush I think has become wedged somewhere and is probably acting as a dam (yuck) and when flushing the water level is rising very high.

What's the best way to deal with this or do we need to call in a plumber?

Hand in binbag, then hand round the bend, see what you can grab. If your hand is too big, get the wire coathanger in there and dig a little deeper. Other than that it is the U-Bend off. Enjoy that one.

Do the job just fine !

I'll second the get you sister to put her hand down, as it'll be in the U bend.

Gloves are optional depending on how much you love your sister, and how annoying she's been :p

Take the toilet to China where the water from the flush goes in reverse thus creating an opposite effect and the brush appears again!

Then back hand your sister.

Don't bother with gloves, they won't go far enough. Two black bin bags (one for backup :p) and get stuck in ;)

Just forget about it, and keep going toilet she will realise what she has done when the smell and mess becomes unbearable.

LOL! That could certainly get messy. Sounds more like a case of DIY SOS than anything to do with China. Just imagine what else would come out if true. :p

PS - the Coriolis Effect, which you may have been thinking of, is a bit of a red herring as it's too weak to have any significant effect in this case. :)
